Back From The Homebuyers Show

Just back from the Homebuyers Show at Excel in Docklands. Three days of talking to people at the Ballard Shaw stand and fighting off the drooling men, who were largely totally ignoring the "lissom lovelies" of our promotion team, but going straight for Andy’s fantastic car
http://www.koenigsegg.com/thecars/design.asp?submenu=2
Andy’s is the opalescent silver/blue/green one and it’s absolutely beautiful.
HIghlights included:
1. Greeting clients, ex-clients and my newsletter readers
2. Watching Steve Watson go from terrified Homebuyer Show novice to the second best "meeter and greeter" in one day flat
3. The most fantastic meal at the Royal China in Canary Wharf on the saturday on Andy Shaw’s birthday (heh! if it was his birthday, how come Ballard Shaw picked up the tab?)
4. The team spirit for the whole three days
5. The lady I spoke to / wealth coached on the first day who got a real tear in her eye when she realised that she knew something that she could make a passive income from the internet (even Steve Watson was impressed that time!)
Lowlights included:
1. waking up at 10 to 9 this morning when Mr Watson rang me to see if I was ready for breakfast and knowing, just knowing that I had overslept horribly in spite of setting my alarm the previous night at 3am (eek!)
2. the fact that there was a Beauty / Spa show on at the same time and the queues for the loo’s were absolutely mega
If Chris Says So…..

My business coach for three years now has been Chris Barrow. One of the many, many things he does that I love, is read prolifically. If he recommends a book, I find it, buy it and read it. That’s how I found the wonderful book "Synchronicity" by Joseph Jaworski that features so heavily in my Financial Intelligence 101 eprogramme. I loved "7 Habits" and it was one of the earliest personal development books I read and it really did change my life. Read what Chris has to say on his blog about Steven Covey’s new book "The Eighth Habit"…..
Little Things Make A Big Difference

My mate Guy Levine is the guru when it comes to internet technology and how to make it work for you. You really should go check out his blog…. www.blog.guylevine.com
Guy says: "Yesterday I was interviewed for a product about successful people, where I had to talk a bit about me, and what I had done to get where I am today. Amongst other things, one sentence that came out of my mouth was quite prolific!
‘Success is just doing simple things consistently.’
Why do I mention this? Well, let me share some info with you. I do it to inspire and not to gloat. This month I have made £26,000 of passive revenue from the internet. That’s about $52,000. Everyone has been asking me how I have done it. I find it quite funny really, because I have not done anything special really. Just lots of simple things done consistently!
So what are those things? Let me give you some pointers…..
Is It Too Late To Get Into Buy-To-Let?
by Nicola Cairncross on February 24, 2005

There are more and more articles coming out at the moment warning buy-to-let investors that their investment properties may no longer be self-funding. Once again, trying to scare people off of investing in property.
One such article I read the other day commented that ‘amateur landlords who buy houses to let are no longer guaranteed a profitable return on their investment.’ As we all know there are never any guarantees on property, which is why if done properly, property investing can give such a large return on your investment.
If it was a guaranteed return then everyone would be doing it, and we don’t want that do we?
Another comment made was ‘other pitfalls include a tax on your profits.’ Well that shocked me as in just eight words he managed to make a profit look like a bad thing!
The main point of the article was very true though, people should understand that at times….

Just discovered that Nancy Morris (http://www.nancymorris.com/ ) has a link to a telephone interview she did recently with Michael Gerber. He outlines the concepts from E-myth beautifully and emphasises the tyranny of the "Technician" perfectly…The E-Myth Revisited is a must read book for all aspiring and existing businesspeople. Life changing.

Judith Morgan is a specialist Entrepreneur & Business Coach (and one of the speakers at my Wealth Creation Conference 10/11 March – for more info visit www.ukwealthcreationconference.com ). Judith has a great website and a fantastic newsletter called "In The Pink" which is Judith’s favourite colour incidentally.
She’s launching a great service on her site for business owners which I totally recommend. Judith says:
"I am going to be creating a section on my website www.drivedance.com called Ask Judith in which I will invite questions from visitors about problems they may be encountering with their business and I will answer these anonymously in the newsletter or on the site.
This means you can get the answers to ….
Diary of A New Product – #2

Right, so we have the domain name www.automatedmarketingmachine.com and we are building the website. I’ve yet to do the front page but I’m working on the content for the "more info" pages that flow from the "choices" page. Here is the "website" info:
| Your Website (that works!) |
| People buy products and services from people they know, like and trust. There is nothing like a website for starting off this process and the beauty of it is that it does this while you are asleep.
The sole purpose of a website that works is give your potential client or customer everything they need to be able to make their minds up about whether they are interested enough in your product or service to give you their email address. You need their email address so that you can begin to build that relationship. It often takes up to 10 times of encountering you, your product or service, before this happens. You have to give your potential client or customer something of value to encourage them to part with their email address. "Sign up here for our newsletter" just doesn’t cut it anymore. This something of value, like an article, free report, ticklist or ebook, enables you to prove immediately that you know what you are talking about, building on the firm foundation that your website that works has created. Our simple, professional website template can be customised to pick up your company colours and fonts. The front page will contain your elevator speech and your parable. This speaks directly to your customer, shows them that you understand their problem or challenge and that you have a solution. It also starts the relationship and establishes your authenticity. |

I spent a couple of hours with my good friend Gill Fielding from The Wealth Company (www.wealthcompany.com) yesterday. She wanted me to sit in on the meeting with her new website designer, another one of my clients, Greg Southey from 3 Internet.
I then went on to see the boys from Ballard Shaw (www.ballardshaw.co.uk) . I’m internet strategist for their property company which builds ….

Well, it’s been a learning sunday (after the gym that is!)
My ex-husband has the kids Saturday night/Sunday morning and while I’m still single and NOT going away for wild weekends, I’m using the time to get fit and learn new stuff.
My two new learning curve things are …
