I spent a couple of hours with my good friend Gill Fielding from The Wealth Company (www.wealthcompany.com) yesterday.  She wanted me to sit in on the meeting with her new website designer,  another one of my clients, Greg Southey from 3 Internet.

I then went on to see the boys from Ballard Shaw (www.ballardshaw.co.uk) .  I’m internet strategist for their property company which builds ….

….portfolio investments for private clients.

I was telling them about blogs and how I felt they were taking over from newsletters due to the spam problems and then I went into one, raving about pings and trackbacks - yes, I did figure it out last night and it was an upgrade problem - and how I felt we should set up a network of blogs, all referring back to each other if the articles were relevent.  Gill and Andy from Ballard Shaw love to write so that got their attention.

What came out of these two conversations for me, as I was driving through the beautiful Sussex countryside to pick up the kids, was a new client service where we set up and oversee the whole internet marketing strategy, for clients like Gill and the Ballards;  where they know they want it, they know they have to have it, but either they don’t have time or they are not interested in learning about it all themselves.

I called Steve from the car and outlined my ideas and by the time I had got home, he was getting it.  We had a quick meeting and decided which elements were essential for starter clients, which for the intermediate and what we could offer the advanced ones.

He roughed out a website template, we bought the domain name www.automatedmarketingmachine.com and we are in business.

I love the internet - it moves nearly as fast as I do!
