Buying A Business On eBay

One of the other things we learned at the World Internet Summit was how to buy an already existing business on eBay.
You look for a business that is already established, preferably a website business, that is located in a "hot niche" and then you buy it, tweak it, write decent sales copy for it, set up a Google Adwords campaign for it, and off you go.
In our case, I will also be setting up a directory site for the niche, with the classified ad pointing at the website business I have just purchased.
I’m bidding on two at the moment and I’m "No 1" bidder on both. Fingers crossed.
Oooops! Nearly bought something on eBay!

One of the things we learnt at the World Internet Summit was how to buy property on eBay. Armand Morin gave us (as he put it) just enough information on that gripping topic, to make us dangerous!
Yesterday evening, sitting in the garden with a glass of chilled wine, while Steve was firing up the BBQ for the first al fresco meal of the year……..
OK, so what’s essential?

Well, I’m starting to come out of the conference fog that Gill Fielding has always told me she experiences (and that Judith Morgan describes so eloquently in her blog at http://judithmorgan.typepad.com ).
After such a big, 4 day, full on, fantastic event (thanks, Ted, Brett, Tom and Alan for inviting me) you must expect a couple of days of "downer" as you really are on an adrenaline high – especially if you are speaking for the first time, you stay up far too late five nights on the trot, and your book comes out the same week.
But I’ve felt tired, weird, but deeply happy this week, compounded by my daughter Phoebe’s fascination by my momento trophy thing, kindly donated by the very handsome Martin representing http://www.1shoppingcart.com , to all the speakers.
She loves a nice bit of Schwarzkopf type Crystal and when she clapped eyes on my momento, suddenly I went up in her estimation. "ere, Mummy, that’s nice………..have you got any of your books left?" she asked.
"Well, I gave all mine away at the Internet Summit" I said cautiously, "but Steve might have one".
"Can I write down what you do, take the book in and show them your glass ball thingy for show and tell?" she asked.
"Yes, if you don’t drop it" I said. So we wrapped it up in a tea towel carefully then put it in a sexy Judith Morgan carrier bag.
"By the way, what DO you do, just so I can tell them?" Suddenly she’s interested in where her pocket money comes from.
Amazing what a bit of CNN exposure, a bit of sparkle, the sight of a real book with mummy’s name on and the thought that her audio blog was played in front of 120 people can do.
Shaping up like a chip off the old block? I think so!
The funniest thing is that her teacher has kept the copy of the Money Gym book that I donated to the school library (Steve doesn’t know it’s his copy!) because Mr Aylward, her teacher, is suddenly interested in the whole wealth creation concept ………..
What fun!
Well, what a weekend that was….

I have just come back from the World Internet Summit UK 2005 and I had a blast!
We arrived on Wednesday last week for the Speakers Dinner and that set the tone for the whole weekend. I have to say a big, big "thank you" to Ted Ciuba, Brett McFall and Tom Hua, they really looked after me and the encouragement from the other speakers was fantastic.
Over the next few days I will be posting the things that really got to me, about each speaker’s presentation. Keep checking back!

Clarity Comes!

I’ve just had my business coaching session with Judith Morgan. We are co-coaching and so far, it seems to be working.
Judith is a serial entrepreneur – a successful one! She’s an accountant and financial director for companies, and is rapidly becoming the coach of choice for all the entrepreneurs that I know. Her client list is reading like a roll call of the movers and shakers!
Anyway, today’s was a great session. I went to the call saying to Steve "I don’t have anything to talk about today…." a comment he thought was ridiculous of course! However, if I had to say I had an issue, the main one would have been the usual one – that of focus!
So much happening with the changes to The Money Gym, The Money Gym book being published, the World Internet Summit, the exciting developments around …
SuperMatch Software Launches!

The new SuperMatch Software is very nearly ready to launch with estimated time to market for new clients within two months.
This grew out of my www.artistmanager.com site, when I realised that it would work, not just for matching up unsigned artists with managers and music industry resources like solicitors, producers, recording studios etc., but for pretty much any industry.
Then, through my involvement with the World Internet Summit boys, I realised that it was license-able as a "turnkey" online business for people who want passive income but don’t want to do anything particularly beyond coming up with the initial idea.
So www.SuperMatchSoftware.com was born and I have just started the Google AdWord campaign this week. I don’t think for a second that anyone will buy such a high ticket item – it is a business-in-a-box after all – and I know that you have to build relationships with people before they "know, like and trust" you but I thought it might build the database of people who are interested in the concept.
Some more staggering statistics…..

Further to my last post, I’ve been doing some more digging……..and the Sunday Times further lists the following amazing statistics…
26.8 million UK adults use the internet, 55% of the population.
The number of broadband users in the world was 150.5 million at Christmas 2004, with 26.5 million of those being added in the second half of the year.
By 2009 IMS Research forecasts the number of broadband users in the world will exceed 400 million.
In China there were 94 million internet users by the end of 2004 with 43 million being on broadband.
Chinese translation for website looks to be a growing industry!

Are you a business person? Do you have a real world business? Are you a self employed professional currently offering services to clients?
Then you simply must read this email if you want to explode your existing offline business within a few short weeks. There are a few amazing statistics – bear with me – and then I will spell out what you can do about those statistics to tap into what’s being called by the Sunday Times “the new internet revolution”.
I prefer to call it the “Sea of Wealth & Abundance Online”!
But first, a question for you……
Did you know that 30% of all households in the developed world now have ….
