The Keys To Success In Business
by Nicola Cairncross on May 27, 2006

Success in business has nothing whatsoever to do with salesmanship, little to do with a knowledge of your company’s products or services.
It is owing to some far more basic fundamental principles which will determine your success or failure at anything you do in life.
They are your A,B,C’s, Attitude, Belief and Consistency. Taking them in reverse order.
Consistency
We get up every morning, we brush our teeth wash, get dressed have breakfast. We are consistent in our actions. We do it every day. We need to do the same in being consistent with our tasks associated with our business for the days that we have chosen we are going to work, be it 1 or 7 days a week. We need the 6 marbles in our left pocket or left side of our bag and transfer 1 marble to the other side every time we have carried out a positive action i.e. seeing a customer, talking to someone about the business, etc. etc. We need to do it consistently. We need to…

<p>I was invited to be the keynote speaker at Red Diamond Women’s inaugoral event last Thursday and it was a very exciting evening. Over 60 local business-women gathered to hear the warm welcome from the founders Elaine and Geraldine and then I was on, hopefully inspiring the ladies about the potential of internet marketing for their business.</p>
<p>Comments received so far include:</p>
<p>"I was at your talk last night for Red Diamond Women and I want to thank you for your inspiring talk"</p>
<p>"Thank you for a wonderful presentation last night, you are indeed an inspiration and I already have an idea for a new website that’s going to make me millions! I’d also like to attend <a href=”http://www.automatedmarketingmachine.com/”>the event in Manchester</a> if it’s possible to arrange that too" </p>
<p><span face=”Tahoma”>…and from the organisers "thank you so much for making our first networking meeting such a resounding success. I have just been reviewing the feedback forms and your speech was rated "excellent" by the vast majority of attendees. If you want a testimonial for the speaking engagement aspect of your business, we would be delighted to provide one"</span></p>
<p><span face=”Tahoma”><img title=”Lacemarket” alt=”Lacemarket” src=”http://wealthcoach.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/lacemarket.jpg” border=”0″ style=”FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px” /> Thanks girls! and thanks so much for looking after me so well – travel all organised and dinner and a night at the AMAZING Lace Market Hotel – who upgraded me to what must have been their best suite and the one that Tony Blair stayed in when he came to Nottingham. View the hotel website and <a href=”http://www.lacemarkethotel.co.uk/studio.html”>see more pics of my actual room here >>>></a></span></p>
<p>Then I went off to stay with business partner Judith Morgan at her Canary Wharf pad – which is also fantastic! </p>
<p>Dinner with Judith and Nicola King who is also on the Lighter LIfe diet so not much food consumed there! But many many laughs…..</p>
<p>Then onto the Millionaire Mind event, at Excel in Docklands where I met up with many friends, clients and ex-clients. I love these events as you see people who all work from home normally so it’s a great social event. Really looking forward to the <a href=”http://www.autopilotriches.com/app/aftrack.asp?afid=178794″>World Internet Summit UK</a> in June for just this reason….</p>
<p>The quality of the speakers at Millionaire Mind was superb (if not the decor of the hall – what was going on with that?!) and many thanks to George for inviting me to speak.</p>
<p>I was particularly impressed with Stephen Pierce (as always – he is a GREAT speaker), Alan Forrest-Smith (in his kilt no less!), Greg Ballard from <a href=”http://www.asknicolacairncross.com/recommends/passive”>Passive Investments</a> and Marcus De Maria who runs the excellent <a href=”http://www.totalbusinesscart.com/app/adtrack.asp?AdID=232978″>Wealth Workout</a> & Stockmarket <a href=”http://www.totalbusinesscart.com/app/adtrack.asp?AdID=234052″>Investment Mastery</a> courses.</p>
<p>I spoke to my biggest crowd ever – over 1100 – and it was great fun. Many people came up afterwards to find out more about the Money Gym and to book on the forthcoming <a href=”http://www.themoneygym.com”>Money Gym Open Day</a>, then to congratulate me on my talk, and my weight loss!</p>
<p>Then about 25 of us went to dinner at the excellent Chinese restaurant near to the Crowne Plaza where we were staying and, most unusually, we were all in bed by midnight. Weird.</p>
<p>The next day was just as good too and I particularly enjoyed one of the more mature speakers, whose name escapes me and the site is down now, but he was from the USA and was great. </p>
<p>All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable week and we are off to Gatwick on Tuesday night for another <a href=”http://www.automatedmarketingmachine.com”>Automated Marketing Machine Open Day</a>, so I’m looking forward to that too.</p>
<p>Diet club tonight though <grin></p>

This month Equifax is involved in a media campaign that explodes some of the myths that surround bankruptcy. We want our Equifax customers to be among the first to hear what we have to say, so that you can protect your long-term credit interests.
How Big Is Your Golden Goose?

Philly Says:
Golden Goose, have you gone mad Philly? What are you talking about?
I have just returned from T Harv Eckers – Millionaire Mind Intensive in New York and my oh my, what an inspirational seminar!
If you have seen Tony Robbins and you think he is great at motivating you then you need to see Harv and Rob, this seminar takes you to a completely different level.
I have been sworn to secrecy and am unable to reveal all that happens at this seminar but I will tell you about the Golden Goose!
So what is this Golden Goose all about?
The Golden Goose resembles your Financial Freedom Fund. The value of your assets and the amount of money you passively earn make up your Financial Freedom Fund.
You need to continually grow your Golden Goose to get this fund as BIG as possible. The larger the Golden Goose, the more money making opportunities will come your way and the quicker you will be financially free.
These investment / money making opportunities are otherwise known as your golden eggs!!
Watch this space for the Money Management System that T Harv Ecker teaches to help you grow your Golden Goose.
Getting the Cash Flowing

Marion Says:
It was one of those Saturdays when we were at rather a loose end.
The house was as spotless as it’s ever going to be with men, cats and dog in residence.
The overnight guest – only a woman ha ha and the reason the house
was spotless – had been seduced with freshly squeezed juice (apple,
carrot, spinach, lemon, celery, cucumber and pear) and toasted crumpets
with melted Boursin but had left anyway…
We’d had a doodad-spendfest the last three weekends and I couldn’t face another one. So what to do with a few spare hours?
It was time for a game of Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow.
We haven’t played for a while because I was fed up of Jake winning
the whole time and having to surreptitiously throw me a couple of
hundred k’s when he thought I wouldn’t notice.
The last few games we played I kept being forced to put my hand in
my pocket for useless over-priced doodads for my girlfriend and try and
keep up payments on those private school fees for my brood of kids. I
was managing to hang onto my job and acquire the odd investment but
never quite had enough money to get out of the rat race.
That Judith Morgan
person would say: "The game is a good reflection of life. How does
this mirror they way you feel about and manage your finances in real
life".
She can be annoying like that.
But this time was different. This time, although I still had the
high maintenance lifestyle, I was whizzing around the board on double
throws, accumulating lots of paychecks and neatly avoiding the doodads,
the new babies and the downsizing.
Great opportunities kept coming my way and I quickly built my
portfolio of property, shares and businesses, bringing me ever closer
to achieving financial freedom (where my passive income was greater
than my living expenses).
So did I win the game? Er, no I didn’t actually.
I stopped to give Jake a hand-up, buying him a nice little 4-plex
which shortly after he was able to sell at a huge profit, giving him
enough money for an apartment block which, in one fell swoop, gave him
enough profit rent for financial freedom.
And while he, the lowly-paid engineer was out living the high life
and dining with the American president, I (the well-paid doctor) was
womanfully struggling on, slowly building my passive income and waiting
for "the big one".

You Know You’re A Sad Person When

Annie says:
You know you’re a sad person when
…you spend your Friday night in rapt attention gazing at your monitor, too fascinated to remember that there is a whole world outside, or even that you are hungry because you are so excited by the latest Internet marketing product you’ve just downloaded.
And when eventually you do tear yourself away because your dog is casting serial, baleful, accusatory glares in your direction, you’re happy to make do with a sorry meal of indifferent risotto and lightly microwaved cabbage (do not attempt this one at home unless you are seriously into cabbage) so that you can get back to staring at the screen and listening to a slightly manic voice, with vague regional undertones, that’s not particularly easy on the ear……
How To Set Your Charges

"Recently i’ve been doing a lot of sales training for a lot of diff companies but Have NO clue on how to charge them. previously, it was my company taking care of all the paper work but the way things worked out…. i am really lost. seems like i’ve been diong a lot without proper pay. Any feedback would be GRATEfully received"
Well, where do I start?
First of all, I have to tell you from long years of experience, the customer never buys or doesn’t buy because of the price. So forget pricing yourself at the bottom end of the market, or undercutting, for a start!
They always buy (or not) because of the perceived value. So your marketing must set a perception of the value, from Day One.
We started selling Wealth Creation weekends at £375 (including all food, accommodation and top luxury country house hotels) and it was harder to sell those, than the later weekends, for which we charged £3450, with the client paying their own food and accommodation, in quite a normal hotel near Heathrow. You do need to get a handle on how much the "going rate" is – not that you are going to set YOUR rates at the "going rate" – oh no! not at all!
Then you are going to look at what you offer, and satisfy yourself that it’s as good if not better than than what the herd are offering.

Diet Update On The Hardest Day Of All

Diet Update
by Nicola Cairncross on May 1, 2006
in Money Gym | Diaries
<p>It’s 11 weeks in and I’ve had my most challenging day so far – and there’s been a few, what with the house move and various other things there isnt’ the millenia needed to go into.</p>
<p>I’ve been really good for 12 weeks – I haven’t cracked once. </p>
<p>I’ve lost 4 stone in 12 weeks and I’m making inroads into my 5th stone now. That is quick and easy weight loss by anyone’s standards.</p>
<p>This is the day that nearly broke my resolve.</p>
<p>I woke up today and turned my laptop on to see a screen full of gobbledegook and then an error box that looked very serious. </p>
<p>It turned out it was serious.</p>
<p>A swift call to PC World confirmed that I would need to do a complete system restore and then install every single programme I use (and I use lots!) before downloading a full back up from the online backup company I use.</p>
<p>O Joy. We have just moved house and only have dial up.</p>
<p>So this took all day, then I went to download the backup software (and i’ts bloody slow because BT are INCAPABLE of putting in a new telephone line and then broadband without endless delays, no matter how you try and organise it all in advance) before being confronted by a screen asking me for my account number.</p>
<p>Which of course was stored in my Outlook. Which I couldn’t get to till I could download the Outlook backup file.</p>
<p>A call to the emergency number produced Nigel, who is moving house today and whose computer is packed in boxes. He said try Jeremy but to call this evening if no joy. Jeremy texted back to say he’s up a mountain hiking, so Nigel this evening it is. </p>
<p>One wonders why they have someone on 24 hour technical backup who is moving house…….</p>
<p>Then I had the bright idea of searching our external hard-drive for a backup and succeeded in downloading Steve’s to my laptop accidentally. </p>
<p>Never mind, I thought, my iPac has all my contacts and appointments on it, let’s synch that with the new Outlook and at least I would know what I’m doing tomorrow.</p>
<p>But Steve’s imported copy of Outlook overwrote the iPac info, rather than the other way round. </p>
<p>I really want a glass of wine now. But it’s my Fatbusters meeting in half an hour so I’ll go to that first and I’m sure I’ll be fine by the time I get home.</p>
