Let me warn you. Stick with this email, it goes beyond the shallow. In fact I wasn’t sure if I should send this out to my list. Why?

Simple; there are time as a marketer online when the takers out there, hit the reply tab, respond with cutting-abuse and verbal assault if you are not giving them everything you know for FREE!

This message goes way beyond that kind of thinking. It’s just me telling you a short story. Listen if you like.

Come with me now on a little trip.

The last 2 years for me have been hugely special for me.  I mean a pretty WOW time. My life is transformed to say the least. And hey … this isn’t all about CASH! Life goes way beyond that!

I’d like to share some of the years with you. Is that okay?

For example…

I spent 4 days sitting on a sun-soaked beach at the edge of the Malaysian rain-forest …..

…..watching white faced monkeys scavenge along the sands looking for nuts and fallen fruit.

I took a trip in a boat around Singapore harbor riding under the famous ‘cavanagh’ steel bridge, looking at the famous mer-lion, digesting facts and history about what I felt was a totally intriguing place.

I walked along part of the endless miles of white sands on surfers paradise with a very, very good and hugely special mate of mine Brett Mcfall watching young surfers riding the quicksilver for fun!

I walked through the overly surreal location of Hollywood battling with jedi-knights and pirates of the Caribbean on the main boulevard of stars.

And one of my favorites …

A midnight stroll around Sydney’s softly lit, world famous Opera house on a cool breezy spring evening this September with some truly beautifully special people.

I’ve stayed in a luxurious glass surrounded penthouse overlooking the Melbourne skyline.

I’ve slept in 5 star luxury in Kuala Lumpuar facing their own breathtaking twin (petronas) towers facing me for a view.

I’ve stood on the very same spot that the famous Captain Cook stood at the rocks over in Sydney.

I’ve flown in luxury on first class airlines!

This is an ex-hairdresser typing!

Man, it’s been crazy. It’s been amazing.

The time I sat on the beach on Malaysia for 2 hours on my own, thinking about the real meaning of life whilst listening to the crash of the hot ocean on the soft sands around me.

The time when I spent 2 hours sitting at the edge of the Singapore harbor watching the sunset on a horizon of endless oil tankers. Again thinking about life and all it has to offer.

Or the recent time when relaxing in my 17th floor my hotel room with a glass of wine, overlooking the stunning Sydney harbor bridge … wow … wow … wow!

And you know what’s amazing when you travel like that?

You discover people are all people.

They all have the same humanity. A heart. Blood and passion.

They all want the same. Feel the same. Eat the same.

They share, desires, passions, loves, wants needs and other daily.

Peel back the skin, take away the culture, stand them alone … people are the same.

It’s been an incredible couple of years … amazing!

So … Why am I talking about this?

How can it be any benefit for you?

Here’s the most common question I get asked regardless of where I am in the world.

"how does someone that was cutting hair just 3 years ago get to where you are now?"

Would you like to know?

Here’s MY answers. Take them in, digest them and think about what you’re reading. IT COULD BE YOU!

1. Realizing where I was in my life. You know the point where you say … "I know where I am now, I don’t like it, I know where I want to go/be". I was at a point where I was working what felt like 24/7 with my salons. Did I like it? No!

2. Knowing what I wanted out of life. Was it to be a jobber forever, an stressed out employer forever? I hated employing my 16 staff at this point. I hated being a salon owner. The whole thing was destroying my humanity.

3. Taking FULL control of my life. Who was controlling my life? Was it me or someone/something else?

4. Changed my habits of a lifetime forever.

What do I mean? Well it’s this simple, keep on doing the same old things, keep on getting the same old results" Right?

My results had been the same for years. I wanted to change things. That meant changing habits forever.

Want a clue?

Turn off the TV and steal back time.

5. Re-educated myself.

This was tough. I am a self-confessed numbskull with no qualifications. So for me to change my life meant re-education myself.

So I did just that. Spent hours, days, weeks and months educating myself.

6. Act on what I had learnt. YES … the tough bit, taking decisive action so my life would change.

That’s it really. Maybe I make it sound simple. I don’t mean to. I only want to show you this one thing.

The day you begin to control your own life is the day your life begins to change. Can you do that? Would you like to do that? I believe any human being can do that.

It’s not about the cash only. It’s about being happy, being healthy and being content with YOURSELF.

That only happens when YOU TAKE control.

There’s a quote I love from a movie. The movie is called Vanilla Sky. It’s this …

"every second of everyday is another chance to change things"

I grabbed the seconds. YOU CAN easily!

With that in mind I’d like to tell you this.

I will be talking at this one.

This is up in my beloved Scotland. Location is a stunner in Edinburgh’s Lyceum.

I am a "laddie frae leith".

Leith is in Edinburgh. In fact Leigh is my birthplace. I was born there in 1963 to very poor parents. I grew up in a very poor neighbourhood where you either worked in the shipyard or on a fishing boat or … you simply didn’t work!

I’m taking my 70 yr old dad with me. He hasn’t been home now for a few years. We can’t wait to walk around Newhaven Harbour where I used to play, fish and actually spend time catching the evenings meal with my brother.

And we’ll reminisce about life in The Fort, walks in Leith links in the past and the wonderful future before us.

I get super-emotional when I go home to Edinburgh, dad does too so it’ll be fun ‘n’ tears I’m sure.
