Rich Schefren – Must View Videos For Self Employed & Business Owners

I have just spent the most AMAZING Saturday watching Rich Schefren’s new videos which are just packed full of the most incredible content.  If you are self-employed or a business owner you just have to go over there now and watch it.

http://www.StrategicProfits.com

You will note that this is not an affiliate link (not that that is a bad thing) and neither is Rich selling anything.  He’s definitely warming up for the next intake of his coaching programme but I for one don’t mind that at ALL.

Rich, you may remember, is the guy who blew me away with his “Internet Marketing Manifesto” and then the “Final Chapter” and “Missing Chapter”.  He’s the only person from outside the company to work with the multi-billion information publisher AGORA, which is miles bigger than Nightingale Conant but which nobody over here has heard of, yet.

First of all there is a little 45 minute video which is full of ….

Dynamite and Butlins…

by Nicola Cairncross

I’ve been testing out our new strapline, developed at the Lead Generation Masterclass – it is “The Money Gym; helping dynamic business people become independently wealthy”. Each word of which is pretty much perfect now apart from “helping” which I’m not keen on, but enabling seems a bit jargon-like and overused.

Sharing it with Judith prompted her to send me this …

“The word “dynamic” has the same root as the word “dynamite”. That which is dynamic is powerful, forceful, filled with energy, and leads to change. That which is dynamic tends to blast you out of a rut!” By Catherine Ponder from The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity. She was a minister of religion I think, first published according to my copy in 1962, so pretty forward thinking then – since this is basically The Secret!”

This led me to think about how…

Can property provide an income?

Margaret says:

I read a survey recently that seemed surprised to discover that pensioners have half of their "wealth" in their property while only one fifth of their wealth was easily accessible as "cash". Duh!!!!

Of course, if you’ve ever bought a house it is far more likely that by the time you reach retirement age you will have a significant amount of equity in the property, especially if you hold to the wisdom that the way to wealth is to pay off your mortgage.

More and more people are beginning to lose faith in their traditional pensions investments and see investing in property as the appropriate vehicle to provide for them during their retirement.

But how much property do you actually need to become financially free???

High Performance Business

by Nicola Cairncross on February 22, 2007
in Money Gym | Diaries

Nicola says:

My ex- Internet Mentoring client Lea Woodward is getting ready to fly and work from Panama any day now.  She used to work for Accenture and posted a very interesting clip from the Accenture annual report today on her most excellent blog over at LeaWoodward.com

Lea says:

You can say what you like about management consultants – but working for one of the biggest & best in the world has given me an insight into how to really "do" big & successful business.

I received Accenture’s annual report this week. Usually it goes in the bin after a cursory glance to see if there’s anyone I know in the glossy bit.

This time, I thought it’d be worth a read to see if there’s anything applicable to the small business owner & entrepeneur who can make use of the results of investing millions to research high performing businesses & what makes them successful.

Accenture have defined the 3 key building blocks of high performance as:

Market Focus & Position – resulting in better decisions

Distinctive Capabilities – resulting in better practices

Performance Anatomy – resulting in better mindsets

They state that "High performance businesses continually balance, align and renew the three building blocks…"

I’m going to ignore the first two for now because it’s the 3rd one, which I found most relevant to "us".

Accenture have found that "High performers:

- Proactively shape & create markets based on an unrelenting pursuit of customer-valued innovation.
- Achieve extraordinary levels of productivity through the way they train, develop, lead & engage their employees.
- Regard information technology as a source of operational excellence and competitive advantage.
- Manage with the help of a ’selective scorecard’ that highlights key performance indicators.
- Continually find ways to renew themselves & keep their organisations on their toes.

Sorry, sorry, I know there’s a bit of "corporate w*nkerism speak" in there (oops sorry again for the language but that does describe it perfectly)…

But if you can cut through that, there are some useful pointers to use as your own "high performance scorecard" for your business.

Getting Into Trading The Stockmarket

by Nicola Cairncross

Investment MasteryWe are very keen on the stock market at The Money Gym – mainly teaching Money Gym members how to identify fundamentally sound shares using some basic research, how to buy and then using simple charting techniques to decide when to buy, and then to hold for the long term.

We like nice easy strategies like “Beat The Footsie” that take a couple of hours a year, and consistently give you returns of 20% per annum and have done for years.

Until we met Marcus De Maria at the 2005 Wealth Creation Conference we hadn’t really come across anyone who we liked, to teach our Money Gym clients about creating an extra income from the markets by trading shares.

However, ever since Marcus did his brilliant day at our 5 Wealth Creation Conference we hadn’t really come across anyone who we liked, to teach our Money Gym workshop in November, when I started to dimly grasp the concept of “selling short” for the first time EVER, I’ve been badgering Marcus to let me try out his Investment Mastery Home Study DVD Box Set – recorded at one of his 2-day workshops, as I’m so keen to learn more and the next workshop is not for a while.

He teaches three simple strategies to make money in ….

It’s a Hero’s Journey all right

Nicola Says:

It’s weird how things happen.  I was talking to Judith today and she told me about Alternatives in London, and how they got some great speakers there.  Then I looked at their site and noted that it was run by Steve Nobel.  Then I blogged on Ecademy and noticed Steve Nobel was on Ecademy and he had just blogged.  Then I viewed his profile and realised that he loves the concept of "The Hero’s Journey" like I do, then I saw his book with the golden egg on the front and I had just uploaded a golden egg to my profile – today!  Well!  I just had to make contact with Steve and then tell you all about him….

Steve_nobel Steve says: "It is my desire that the abundance mindset infect as many people as possible. This I believe will eventually change the way we choose to live on this gorgeous planet"

"We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come." - Joseph Campbell

1. Money is never the real issue. Money can never be a panacea for all problems, yet it is better to live with more than enough money than to endure pointless financial distress. Beyond sorting out some basic strategies for improving your finances, money is never the real, the real issue is whether you are living the life you want to live.

2. Money is energy. The idea put forward by a number of spiritual teachers is that money is a form of energy or prana. Whether you accept that or not, the idea that money is energy is a useful analogy. Money is one kind of fuel that ….

Don’t Get Tongue-Tied in an Elevator

by Nicola Cairncross

I’ve been reading some fantastic books this last couple of weeks, starting with “Niche Marketing For Coaches” by Hannah McNamarah. This really is a brilliant book for anyone in a service industry actually – second only to the mighty “Get Clients Now!” by CJ Hayden, I would say.

At the back are some entertaining case studies of successful Niche Coaches, featuring a motley assortment of specialists, whose names you will instantly recognise – among them Judith Morgan, Chris Barrow, Guy Levine and yours truly.

Then I went to Richard J White’s brilliant Lead Generation Masterclass and in my lunch break, bought another couple of books.

While there, I met some great people – I do love Ecademists – and had a lively chat with Thomas Power and Mark Lee, who took my newly created strapline, totally pulled it apart and put it back together for me.

We spent all morning thinking about our ideal clients, working out their outcomes of working with us, and honing our 30 second elevator speech – which is great because I didn’t really have a short punchy one. Mine now goes…

Taming The Monster

by Judith Morgan

file pile Taming The MonsterIf you are self-employed, what I am about to say to you now may not apply to you.

Because you might like pottering about at home, working when you choose, and for whom you choose.  You may have got used to your income being lumpy and not mind.   Because you enjoy the freedom it brings.   You are your own boss, and leaving aside various uncertainties and the fact that you do everything that needs doing, its great.   Really, its great.   And if that is you, I’m happy for you.

Some days that’s me too!

But what happens to most of us – if we are lucky, or successful, or both – is that the business begins to…
