Keep your eyes on the road!

Margaret says:

2CVThere are many people who live for thrills. Speaking as someone who can find taking a corner in a 2CV at 30 miles an hour pretty exciting, you can see that, adrenaline junkie, is not a good description of me! The closest I’ve ever been to real adrenaline in anything other than the dodgems at a fairground was a "rally driving experience" day. It just didn’t seem natural to be screaming around a corner at 65 miles an hour in second gear – and I’m so glad it wasn’t my gear box!

The car careered around the gravel-strewn road and the tyres began to lose their grip as a slide started.

That’s when the instructor came out with these immortal words of wisdom…

A warts and all week to make our Red Nose shine

by Nicola Cairncross on 16 March 2007

Three or four things have been very interesting from a business point of view this week…..the universe (or whatever) just keeps sending those lessons until you get them, eh?

First of all a lesson in designing more supportive systems, secondly another lesson in toleration zapping, next came Entrepreneurs Trap #3; Taking on responsibility for other people’s feelings …..

What One Thing Do You Want To Know About Second Life (Social Networking?)

Nicola Says:

I’m rapidly becoming a bit of an expert on Social Networking as a result of being very active in Ecademy Black Star and now Second Life.

I’m running a bit of a survey asking what one thing do you want to know about Second Life Success, and I’m happy for you to ask what one thing you want to know about Ecademy, or social networking in general, on the same survey.

Hop on over to http://www.SecondLifeSuccessSecrets.com and ask me your question….

Rich Schefren’s Coaching Programme – I’m in!

Nicola says:

I’m in, I’m in, I’m in!  Hurrah, I made it.

RichschefrenWhen Judith asked me a while ago who I would most want to be coached by in the whole wide world, I was a bit stumped.

I get loads of coaching from Steve, from Greg, from my sister Sarah and not least from Judith herself.  Being around and working with such emotionally intelligent, bright and articulate people generally means that you don’t need coaching per se, especially when you are constantly reading personal development and business books yourself.

But I missed the working through a programme, the calls, the constant stimulation, the accountability and the cameraderie.

So when he launched on Thursday, and Judith said "have you seen it?" and I had a look, and she approved it, I piled straight in and was one of the lucky ones.  $397 a month x 12 x 1500 = $7.1 million per annum by my reckoning.

Very nice thank you.  And that’s why I’m on his programme, because not only have I got so much from his free material that it’s transformed The Money Gym already, but because on the 1 June 2007 we launch the new Money Gym Membership club.

And we can handle way more people in the membership site than we can fit onto the NEWLY RESTRICTED TO JUST 60 PEOPLE on the main Platinum Coaching programme.

Good job he didn’t let us have our login for the coaching programme members area till Monday or I would have been GLUED to the screen even more than usual!!

At least this way, I’ve been able to tidy up the deal Hermione Watanabe has done for some prime beachfront real estate in Second Life – at just L$3 per square metre – and check out the Stock Market and the banks (paying 107% APR – how good is that?) and a mortgage to buy said land.

Because even in SL we don’t use our own money to buy property do we?  See the SL blog for more info).

Visiting Red Nose Plaza by Daden Consulting

Hermionerednose Next, we stopped by Red Nose Plaza created by Daden Limitedwhere we finally got a red nose to wear – how cool is that?  After admiring how Hermione looks in her fetching nose (which may grow as the day goes by…!) we admired all the work from the Daden guys in making such a great place!

Hermione Choosing Her Red Nose T-Shirt

Hermioneandlenny Here’s Hermione – our virtual Second Life Wealth Coach – visiting one of the many places in Second Life putting on special events for Red Nose Day 07, reading all about it (yes, she had to fly up to see Lenny’s picture) and then choosing her t-shirt – we’ve bought her a red nose too but haven’t figured out how to put it on yet!

You Can Wear A Red Nose In Second Life Too!

103964 You Can Wear A Red Nose In Second Life Too! Second Life Residents Buy Red Noses

Virgin Media reports ….

It’s not only people up and down the UK who are busy buying Red Noses and fundraising for Comic Relief this week. Residents of the online world "Second Life" can now virtually wear the Red Nose while making a very real donation to Comic Relief.  Hermione Watanabe, our virtual SL Wealth Coach dashed off to get one immediately…

‘Second Life’ is a 3D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. There are over 4.5 million members who can all buy, sell and trade inside the ‘world’ in Linden Dollars, the ‘Second Life’ currency.

With Red Nose Day being all over shops and TV screens over the last few weeks it seems only right that inhabitants of ‘Second Life’ can also don the famous Red Nose and T-Shirt.

So for just 550 Linden Dollars, residents can buy a T-Shirt or a nose, with £1 in real money coming directly to Comic Relief to help make a difference to thousands of lives in Africa and the UK.

Red Nose Day 2007 -’The Big One’ – is on Friday, March 16. 40% of the money raised directly through Red Nose Day is allocated to work in the UK and 60% goes to work in Africa.

Overseas Property Investment – good or bad idea?

Caroline Moor recently asked this question:

Hi Nicola, your very convincing speech at the Grand Hotel a few weeks ago, inspired me to ‘go for it’.

Buying Property Abroad - top tips from A Place In The SunI have found several properties (off plan which are on a beautiful island in Europe.) I am hoping to go out soon to view some of the  areas, however, wondered if and what the againsts are buying off-plan.

My thoughts are to sell just before completion. If this does not happen and I manage to get a mortgage then rental potential is huge as it’s sunny in the summer and there’s skiing in the winter!!.   I am self employed but earning very little at the moment, so not sure if there will be people wanting to lend me money.  I do have equity though in my home.  Best Regards, Caroline.

Nicola Cairncross replied:

Caroline, great question!  And one I get asked many times.  However, I have to ask you, are you a gambler?  Do you regularly go to the Casino and gamble with your hard earned money?  If not, then why are you considering it now?  Because that is what you will be doing here.

Wait…I know the answer!  It’s the…

Making the most of my Second Life

by Nicola Cairncross on 07 March 2007

Starting on a sombre note this week, George Metcalfe flagged up a worthy petition that you can sign online at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Bailiff-Violence/, to stop Bailiffs having more brutal powers.  George says:

“The new powers proposed for bailiffs are absolutely horrendous… please read this and if you feel as strongly as me, click on to Peter Salter’s petition to Downing Street. Sadly we live in a world, here in the United Kingdom, in which increasingly our personal independence is being eroded away and swapped for the uncertain compensation of being able to email 10 Downing Street – but who really listens? Who will act to protect us citizens? These proposals to allow bailiffs, who often comprise the most brutal and ruthless elements of our society, to have the right to barge into our homes and sequester our possessions (suppose they have the wrong house and the wrong information?) are incredibly dangerous."

On a lighter note, the big news for The Money Gym this week is that, following a round of successful virtual meetings yesterday with Realtors and Business Park developers, The Money Gym has opened it’s first virtual office in the beautiful Boulevard de Bonheur in the French Quarter of the popular online game Second Life (SL).

Hermione Watanabe - Second Life Wealth Coach for The Money GymHermione Watanabe has been appointed The Money Gym’s first virtual wealth coach. Hermione will soon be having virtual meetings with potential clients and hosting regular open Wealth Coaching sessions in the lovely Plaza de Festival.

"When Nicola read about Anshe Chung becoming the first Real World millionaire from property investment in Second Life, in RED Magazine last week, she just knew The Money Gym had to establish a presence there.

She used the skills acquired from membership of Ecademy Blackstar to accelerate the process and fast track our move to Second Life. Nicola researched Google using key words, utilised Ecademy Blackstar contacts to find out who’s at the cutting edge of Second Life in the UK, made contact with the best movers and shakers in-game, visited their SL offices (everyone was really friendly) and asked for more referrals to the experts she needed" says Hermione. "Networking really works in Second Life as it does in Real Life"

The Money Gym would like to thank…

The excitement was almost too much!

by Nicola Cairncross on 02 March 2007

We are hot foot back from The Money Gym Property workshop where about 90% of the people were new Money Gym clients so it was their first time. There they were, gathered in a hotel conference room totally unsuspecting about what was about to happen to them!

Greg Ballard kicked off our 2007 workshops in great style – he was firing on all cylinders and the funniest and most effective I’ve ever seen him. By lunchtime the delegates looked startled to say the least (if not downright shocked!) by the way a multi-millionaire thinks about the world so differently.

We had loads of…
