What a whopper!

by Nicola Cairncross

REAL LIFE

examine What a whopper!Well, that’s a whopper, isn’t it?” said the man in the ultrasound department of
Worthing Hospital on Tuesday.

What could he have been talking about? A new addition to the Money Gym Towers
gang of teeny tiny but fast-growing entrepreneurs?

No! Calm yourselves!

He was talking about my gallstone – which apparently is nearly the size of a
golfball. A massive 38mm across at it’s widest point. This is how big it is.
Wow!

I felt quite proud……..well, if you are going to get one, it might as well be a
big ‘un! So it’s under the knife for me tra, la. You can’t get a golfball out of
a keyhole, surely?

The following day, we “stood by our beds”, for the quarterly visit of Judith
Morgan, business partner in
The Money Gym. The sun shone (as it always does for
her visits) and the garden beckoned.

We moved our agenda, our printouts, our lappies, our gourmet lunch including
lemon polenta cake with fresh raspberries and crème fraiche (thanks to Steve) to
the back garden and proceeded to plan our business for the next year. A
wonderful day.

I reported on…

Beware the Financial Boogieman!

by Nicola Cairncross

Beware the Financial BogeymanSo many self employed people spend so
much time and energy trying to find ways of
not paying tax that they forget to do the
important thing - make money.

I often hear people saying things like ‘oh you don’t want to be self employed
or make more money because you end having to deal with all that paperwork or end
up paying it all in tax’.

What people forget is that you only have to pay tax if you MAKE A PROFIT. And
you only have to pay tax on a percentage of your profit. And you have tax
allowances on the money you make, before they even calculate your tax.

If you have a company, it has it’s own tax allowance as it is counted as a
physical entity separate from you. Even if you end up having to pay tax at the
dreaded 40%, what does that actually mean?

That you are keeping 60% of your
profits. And profit means total income less legitimate expenses.

If you are employed, you….

Act of Kindness

I continue to get inspired by Chicken Soup for the Soul books every night when I go to bed.  Here is perfect one for this moment in time that I want to share with you………

No Small Act of Kindness was taken from Chicken Soup for the Womans Soul by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Jennifer Read Hawthorne and Marci Shimoff

The day was Thankful Thursday, our "designated day" of service.  It’s a weekly tradition that my two little girls and I began years ago.  Thursday has become our day to go out in the world and make a positive contribution.  On this particular Thursday, we had no idea exactly what we were going to do, but we knew that something would present itself.

Driving along a busy Houston road, praying for guidance in our quest to fulfill our weekly Act of Kindness, the noon hour appropriately triggered hunger pangs in my two little ones.  They wasted no time in letting me know, chanting, "McDonald’s, McDonald’s, McDonald’s" as we drove along.  I relented and began searching earnestly for the nearest McDonald’s.  Suddenly I realized that almost every intersection I passed through was occupied by a panhandler.  And then it hit me!  If my two little ones were hungry, then all these panhandlers must be hungry, too.  Perfect!  Our Act of Kindness had presented itself.  We were going to buy lunch for the panhandlers.

After finding a McDonald’s and ordering two Happy Meals for my girls, I ordered an additional 15 lunches and we set out to deliver them.  It was exhilarating.  We would pull alongside a panhandler, make a contribution, and tell him or her that we hoped things got better.  Then we’d say, "Oh, by the way….. here’s lunch."  And then we would varoom off to the next intersecton.

Changes to The Money Gym Club

HELLO GOLD EXPRESS

We have introduced a fast-track version of the Money Gym Club Gold Level - called
Gold Express - for those who think even a year is too long to learn
about wealth creation. With weekly calls with your coach instead of
monthly calls, you can complete the whole 10 Modules in just three
months.

HELLO MASTERMIND POWER SESSIONS

For several years now our clients have been asking us for something to
follow on from their first year (now it will be their first year or
their first three months - see above) and we have done extensive
research as to what those clients wanted. They said they wanted:

* Continued access to (& coaching from) Judith Morgan & Nicola
Cairncross

* Continued updating about cutting edge methods of Wealth Creation:
Property, Stockmarket, Internet, Business

* Quarterly get togethers (sociable, potential strategic
partnerships, inspiring)

* Accountability (post details of promised actions on the private
Mastermind forum)

* Tapping into expertise & knowledge / contacts of your peers

* Lively and direct coaching in a Mastermind situation

* Nice dinner and hotels

* Flexibility and ability to dip in and out according to dates / work
commitments

So we have created the Money Gym Mastermind Power Sessions and you can
see the dates here >>>

http://www.themoneygymclub.com/categories/20070515

For graduates of the Gold & Gold Express, and Platinum programmes
only, you must have gone through the programme so that you understand
the basics at least, and be some way along your Wealth Creation
journey.

GOODBYE PLATINUM

At the end of the current intake of Platinum level clients, we are
phasing out Platinum in favour of the Gold, Gold Express and
Mastermind programmes.

We think we can reach more people this way and it’s more
affordable for all, so it supports our mission more appropriately.

Watch this space for a more detailed version of our Mission Statement.
rich schefren’s coaching programme is having a big impact on
that little document, I can tell you.

Cheers

Oops… did you spot my mistake?

by Nicola Cairncross

REAL LIFE

frustrated with my pcI’m
a bit cheesed off because I wrote a great “note from nicola” yesterday, but I
wandered away from my computer at the crucial moment…

… and an opportunistic child,
home from school and intent on downloading the latest pop tunes, plugged their iPod in and closed my Word document without saving it.

Groan.

So now I’m going to try and remember
what was in it….  I know I
mentioned the fact that we go live with
the “Earliest Bird” lifetime member
discounts to readers of this ezine at
midnight tonight…..See the boxes in this
ezine for info but basically you can
join the Silver Level FOR LIFE by using
the promotional code “earliestbirds” in
the sign up box at

www.TheMoneyGymClub.com
for JUST ONE
WEEK till midnight next Thursday night.

Next I remember talking about how we
have stepped up the emails out to our
lists this week, and how I hoped that
the value I was delivering in those
emails would outweigh the annoyance some
people feel if they get more than an
email a week from one.

I know I mentioned the lovely
copywriter

Nick Wrathall
, who I met years ago
at a Gary Vurnum event, and will never
forget his words about when you are
marketing something new - if your launch
campaign hasn’t had a complaint by
lunchtime then you are doing something
wrong!

Well I did something “wrong” today!

In today’s…

How do YOU learn?

by Nicola Cairncross

puzzle How do YOU learn?I
thought we would cater for the auditory people out there
today…. those who like to learn by listening rather than
reading!

A large part of enjoyment of membership of

By attending one of the tele-seminars, you are not only tapping into the
experience and knowledge of me, Judith and Steve, but The Money Gym coaches and
your fellow members.

I remember vividly a time where a Platinum member was selling (with her
brothers) a factory that had been left to her as part of her dad’s estate. The
sale had been agreed at several million pounds, but, right at the last minute,
the purchaser had come back to the solicitors with some esoteric question about
potential contamination of the land under the factory.

This Platinum member brought the question to the group, where another member
in the community - a bio-chemist - was able to…

Is Nicola a Millionaire?

by Nicola Cairncross

ask Nicola YOUR burning questionThis burning question was asked of me on Andy Shaw’s membership site the other
day:

Nicola, May I ask a personal question? Are you a millionaire?
Kind
regards, Sean

This was my answer…

I’m always being asked that - usually by Financial Advisors who are
themselves actually employees and will never be millionaires (unless their house
appreciation accidentally makes them so!). They feel threatened somehow by the
concept of a wealth coach.

Before I answer, let’s make sure that we are talking about the same
definition of "millionaire" …..the correct definition is “someone who has a
million pounds worth of assets, after deducting their liabilities”…is that
what you mean?

In that case, the short answer is, no, I’m not.

Yet.

However, I am what’s known as financially free. At the moment. And that’s
much more important to me.

Being financially free means I don’t have to go out to work for someone else for a living, I choose how
I spend my days, and I’m creating appreciating assets that will keep me
financially free (and my children) for the rest of my life.

The longer answer is that…
