Judithtypepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/07/31/judith.jpg" border="0" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px" /> My partner in The Money Gym, Judith Morgan has been holding many calls with potential Gold Express members this week, keen to get in before the midnight tonight (31 July) deadline, to secure their bonuses, and interestingly, one question is coming up again and again.

"If I invest £3554 with the Money Gym, what will be my ROI and how fast will it happen"

Before I tell you Judith’s answer to this, I would like to go into ROI or "Return On Investment" in a bit more detail, as not many people understand it properly.  I cover it quite a bit in my book "The Money Gym: Ultimate Wealth Workout"  because it’s very important to know what it is and how it can change, especially if you are thinking of going self employed or starting a business.

WHAT IS ROI?

The useful thing about the ROI model is that it can be used to compare any potential wealth creation activity, to compare a property deal with a business deal, a stock market investment with an internet opportunity.

When you first get interested in Wealth Creation one of the first questions is ’so how do I find these investment, property or business opportunities’?

A little bit later, you will find that you are overwhelmed with all the possibilities and opportunities are jumping out at you from every corner.

So how can you tell which ones to pursue?

Spending The Weekend With Rich Schefren!

Richschefren_2typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/07/30/richschefren_2.jpg" border="0" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px" /> I spent the whole weekend with rich schefren and before you jump to conclusions, while he’s certainly cute, it’s not what you might think!

You may know already that I’m on his Business Growth System Programme – a group coaching programme for Entrepreneurs.  I’ve shared some of the many, many revelations I’ve had about our business over the last six months, as a result of Rich’s work, with readers of our ezine.

I first heard about Rich when he released his “Manifesto” which was absolutely brilliant and required reading for all business owners (if you haven’t read it yet, download it here).

He then added to it, with the Missing Chapter and the Final Chapter and they are both genius too.

Money Gym: Ultimate Wealth Workout (Chapter 4 - Debtbusting)

Nicola Cairncross, author of "The Money Gym: Ultimate Wealth Workout" discusses debt with business partner Judith Morgan. Why do people get into debt in the first place, how can they manage their debt, which strategy is best? Working with credit cards, should you pay off your debt before you start to invest, is debt consolidation a good idea and how can they ultimately learn how to earn more money so it never happens again!

The Property Millionaire (That Wasn’t!)

Founder Of The Money Gym, Nicola Cairncross says:

I’ve got some lovely property freebies for you today, and a couple of great resources, and a total tip off for you!  But first, a little story….I went to a ladies networking event recently and after my presentation, which featured my two specialist topics, property and internet marketing heavily, a lady in her early fifties came up to me and quietly asked me if I could comment on her situation.

Bear in mind, I had talked quite a lot in my presentation about what property investor and sometime mentor, Maria Davies, calls the "Deadly Express" effect, the dangers of believing the doom-mongering headlines in the paper, learning to read behind those headlines and to do one’s own research on websites such as the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister’s where they list property statistics on every area in the country.

So nobody in the room was under any illusions about the non-existant forthcoming property crash…

This lady, lets call her Roz, was scraping out a meagre income via her alternative therapy business (I can’t remember what she did exactly), however she owned her flat in Hove outright, which was worth £247,000 or thereabouts.

The first thing I asked her was "what are your outgoings and do you want more clients for your business?" and she replied "yes, but she wasn’t sure if she could handle more, as she was often quite ill".

She told be that her outgoings were about £2000 a month and I asked her what amount per month would give her a good standard of living.  "Ooooh, about £3000 would be lovely", she replied.

If she had just said yes, she wanted more clients, I would have then talked to her about ….

Judith Mourns An Old Friend…

Judith, as we speak, is winging her way down to our house for a "skills-swap" with Steve.  I’m a bit hazy on what skills they are swapping, but it involves spreadsheets and a microphone (he’s busy rigging it all up now).  We will all have lunch together and go over the cashflow for the Money Gym (see my other post about that) as it nearly co-incides with our quarterly board meeting.

Before she left though she found time to do FIVE, count them, FIVE introductory calls for Gold Express, after my mailout on Monday about the ten spaces available and the Summer Special Offer.  And she found time to do the funniest blog I’ve read for a long time…..

Judith says …..

I am trying to remember how long we worked together.   I remember buying her in the mid Nineties at some point. Someone left me alone outside Muji (always a mistake) in Whiteley’s Shopping Centre and before I knew it, I had bought a calculator.   A beautiful slimline model.   I seem to remember it setting me back a rather shocking amount of money, £25 comes to mind.   I remember thinking that was a lot at the time.   But with hindsight it was cheap.  For what is a good accountant without her favourite and GREAT Muji calculator?   Nothing.   But a shadow of her former speedy dexterous self.

And maybe this is a good thing?   Because, of course, I am no longer …. typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/07/rip-old-friend.html">READ MORE HERE >>>>

Judith Let’s Rip About Wealth Creation Gurus!

Nicola says:  Judith has moved me quite profoundly with her latest blog posting on the topic of Wealth Gurus from overseas, and I wanted to share it here.  She says more eloquently than me something that many of us have been thinking for a while.

Judith says:

Moneygymbooktypepad.com/my_weblog/images/2007/07/18/moneygymbook.jpg" width="100" border="0" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px" /> I feel a bit of a rant coming on.   There’s guy called John Harrison of Streetwise Publications who has been sending me his rants for a while now, and I’m enjoying them.   His politics may not suit everyone but he and I are certainly of one mind when it comes to the postal workers on strike.   Try one of John’s rants here (A Week is a Long Time in Rotherham); it should make my forthcoming one seem mild by comparison!

I got an email this morning from a colleague (and a top bird she is at that) reminding me, like the bloke who phoned from Ecademy yesterday, that Brad Sugars is on in Surrey tonight and Wembley tomorrow night.  Didn’t this man Brad Sugars (whoever he may be) give us any notice?   As if I can clear my diary like that at 24-48 hours’ notice!

Anyway, that’s not the point of my rant, this is…

…Brad is over here from somewhere else teaching us how to be Billionaires.   And yes, I know I am the first to recommend going to free information evenings to pick up what you can for free, but today this caught me on an off moment.   And here’s why.

Brad Sugars has made himself a billionaire by selling franchises to people wanting to become a business coach, and they weren’t cheap.   At least two colleagues I know who bought the franchise have (a) given it up or (b) are thinking of giving it up.   Not that I mean to imply any criticism of Brad Sugars in this explanation.   I know only too well about caveat emptor "buyer beware".   It’s not Brad’s personal responsibility but it would be nice to think that someone in his organisation is pre-screening people with that sort of money to invest and supporting them to make a success out of their investment. However, while you may be able to lead a horse to water you can’t necessarily make him drink, no matter how much you might stick his head in the bucket.

What makes me cross is….
