Success: How To Find Your Flow

On the subject of "success" I just wanted to remind everyone about the marvellous "Needsless" and "TruValues" programmes devised by Thomas Leonard. I always encourage Money Gym clients to do those two exercises first, as they are quick, simple, and give people a really good idea of their core needs (needs are things you can’t live without and will fill unhealthily if not filled healthily) and core values (things that make your heart sing).

I have uploaded Thomas’ tools, along with a great supplementary tool by the Sparkk gang (which helps you whittle them down from 10 to the core 3 in each category), here for you all.

http://www.themoneygymclub.com/articles/20071010 – you may need to join as a Free Level member to access them.

If you can structure your idea of success / route to success around those two things, then you won’t go down the wrong road in your search for success – like I have so many times LOL!!

As you know, I also really like the "Wealth Dynamics" profile created by Roger Hamilton (find your easiest route to wealth / your flow – link in the sidebar there to the right), and the Kolbe Index (shows you the most natural way for you to ACT in any given circumstances). I’ve done a lot of others, but I would say the four above are the most important in terms of creating success for my Money Gym clients.

“The Long Hard Slog: Creating Scale”

Mystartuplife_3 Nicola says:

I have just finished reading one of my birthday books, “My Start Up Life” by Ben Casnocha, who was only just 19 when he finished the book, and who is, this year, just heading off to college!  Ben started his first company at the age of 12, is a born entrepreneur, and started his multi-million dollar software company Comcate, when he was just 14, fitting in meetings and sales presentations with school and basketball practice.

I know my business partner, Judith Morgan, will not find the title of this article pleasing, as she firmly believes in building a “business to love” easily and lightly.

But as I concentrate on scaling up The Money Gym to fulfil my mission of becoming Europe’s leading Wealth Creation education company, specifically for women, one of the chapters in Ben’s excellent book struck a deep chord, giving me food for thought and cheering me up immensely.  It also inspired this article, hence the title.

So your startup worked!

It might seem like a long time now since you first had your initial business idea!

You are just coming to the realisation that your idea worked, and perhaps it’s all a bit of a shock.  After years of trying, and perhaps regularly failing, to create a business, you have now hit on something that looks like it’s got legs and you are going to run with it.  Wooooo-eeeeeee!

You have created your product or service and got it out there.  You have tweaked your offering and managed to stay in business while you did so.  Somehow you managed to “not be a secret” like so many start up businesses, and your market responded – they want / need what you are offering them, your solution to their problem or pain.  They are even willing to pay for it.  Wow!

You are now covering your business overhead on a month by month basis, and now, even more amazingly, you are paying …..

Julia was one of the two people I work with each year, on an intensive internet project.  I worked with Julia in 2006.  Julia’s project was to create, from scratch, a coaching programme for stressed teachers.  She then went on to create a website, set up her shopping cart, payment gateway, a blog and she is just about to host her first teleseminar.

Now How Useful Is This? Change A Tyre In 5 Minutes

I was perusing my favourite blogs as I do on the days when I have to write something myself.  Reading great writing inspires me, and often I find something that pulls together or adds to my article.

One of my favourite blogs Wife In The North, has a very amusing post about breaking down in the middle of the countryside, not being able to tell the RAC or AA where she is, and not knowing how to change a tyre.

I don’t either although I was shown how, a long time ago by my brother in law.  In her post there was a link to the "job in hand" and I idly clicked it, as you do on blogs.

I was led to a great little video, showing you how to change a tyre and other useful things.  Here’s "one for the ladies"……

(I do wish Wife In The North would turn on her trackback and ping though!)

Women Talk Money – more workshop feedback

"What a fantastic event yesterday! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and so fired up – I’m reading "Property made simple" right now (well before this e), as it’s a simple quick read while having started your book Nicola on the way home last night. Thank you for unlocking so much for me yesterday, I have my husband’s total support in "your sums" as I call them, and I would like to connect with you Judith to go over "my sums" by e; if that’s ok as I will be well into local market knowledge by the call to my buddy on Friday – how short a time do they release money on mortgages? What a great concept, now why didn’t I pick that up when reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad – it’s the way you tell it, in women’s talk maybe?

For once I feel like I’m not being held back and things are flowing. After being able to talk very well and mostly in playground and two year old language, it’s been nice to add some new words to my vocab – great there is a world beyond the playground – YAHOO! I identified with Paula’s situation it was inspiring to hear her story.

I wanted to add to my evaluation form under "could we do anything differently" – and thinking about it on the way home, I remember in the emails leading up to the justification of the cost of the workshop, that it was a lot, after the wealth I’ve created in my head of knowledge and potential and a feeling for the first time of "I CAN do this" I don’t think price justification may be needed next time round? I wish you well for the next event and will be in touch."

"…..hearing Paula’s story was the one that stood out for me. So when I got home last night, I started the ball rolling by talking to my husband about it. His ears pricked up when I said that 4 years ago she was in a similar situation and age as I am now, and now she has properties valued at £1.9 mill, did I get that right?

Very inspiring…..let’s keep up the momentum of the day!

It was great meeting the Money Club Team, although I didn’t speak to the group, I was quietly taking it in.

It’s time to stop dreaming and it’s time for taking action."
