Wealth Coach Diaries: Nicola’s Week

I’ve hosted two absolutely fascinating webinars since last week’s ezine, with Claire Raikes, the “Business Blog Angel” and Tim Brocklehurst “Myviralspiral”. Covering wide ranging topics from internet marketing to business success, it was interesting to note that I don’t “know” either of them in the traditional sense, but because of their web presences, their recommendations and the fact that the Money Gym is a client of Tim’s and Judith is a client of Claire’s, we not only felt comfortable, but had a rocking good time!
You can hear both webinars at http://www.MoneyGymRadio.com. I could have talked to Claire for hours for sure (but we had another call lined up!) and Tim and I did over-run somewhat…….I can’t wait to see them both in action at the “Money Gym Presents……The Internet” workshop next Saturday. Why not see if there are any early bird places left?
Steve has revamped our Affiliates page too, which looks much better and easy to use now. There are some graphics to use - book covers and banners for the site, and some code for videos you can put on your site very easily. The membership site makes layout a bit tricky but Steve is really getting his head around it - combination of techie and arty - so it’s much easier to use now. If you want to recommend The Money Gym, there are lots of ways to do that and earn some passive income so check out his new page - renamed the Affiliate Center
Summer, as usual, has taken me completely by surprise, this year, although my first born, Phoebe’s birthday on 3rd May, traditionally signals a burst of hot weather…….I well remember labouring through the hot night in my water bath overlooking Wormwood Scrubs (o yes!) which combination of pain and heat did NOT make for very attractive after-birth photos!!
Even though it’s going to be 28 degrees tomorrow, I will have to go shopping for ME this weekend I thought today, as I askdatabase.com/images/askbanner2.gif?AFID=182957">surveyed my pathetic little summer wardrobe. Five items or less, compile an outfit!! Though luckily I will be able to actually get into those five items as, after a rough week on the emotions / diet front last week, I’m back on track now. I’m speaking in London on Monday night and having lunch at The Ivy on Tuesday with Judith and Money Gym client / winner of our Women Talk Money “Increase Your Assets” competition, Sue.
I’m not a shopper really, most unusual for a girl and Phoebe, a born shopper at 13, can’t quite get her head around it. I need Gok Wan to help me!
I took Phoebe for a MAC makeover this week, as we have been having problems matching her skin colour for foundation (I know! but if she insists on using it, it may as well be the right colour!) and we had a lovely time. Part of her birthday present, if you spend £25 on a makeover, they will redeem it against makeup. At one point she was very quiet and I asked her if she was ok, whereupon she replied “Yes, mum, having a lovely time but dare not look round, because i want it ALL! I’m so going to get a paper round now I’m 13…..”
Good girl! Think of how you could afford it, not that you can’t. I’ll let her do a JOB for a while, rain or shine, realise how grim it is, and how little you earn, then we can have another entrepreneurial business discussion eh?
At least she got to talk to the make up artist about the London College of Fashion, getting a Saturday job in MAC (they don’t do them) and how much fun being a makeup artist is. We also talked about travel as Phoebe is desperate to go to America………we are gradually getting around to mapping out her ideal life and how she can get there.
Bless her!
Pussycat raider update: He’s not managed to get to the two separate birdy families nesting outside my office window, that naughty black fluffy harbinger of death! Yet! The smaller versions (chaffinch?) are so noisy with the cheeping though - the sound pollution could be putting him off. They are still nest building so no babies yet….the incessant cheeps are driving me bonkers!
Have fun, and stay hot! Could it be my first midnight swim of the year this weekend?

Love the bit about Phoebe - I should put her with my 7 year old - who by the way announced she is going to be a pole dancer when she grows up - while standing on the living room table….not that she is like me at all
