A Wealth Creation Dream Come True

This week a long time wealth creation dream of mine came true….but before I tell you about that, I’ll tell you about my mad exciting week first!
Last Tuesday it was my boy Nelson’s 12th birthday so he, Phoebe and I went to Brighton to their favourite restaurant, Yo! Sushi, where they got through frightening amounts of….you guessed it, sushi, then we all went to see “Fame – The Movie”
This was great not only because I love all that singing and dancing “luvvie” stuff, but because the graduation ceremony gave me the best quotes on success I’ve come across for a while, but how to get hold of it?
I scoured YouTube but the film is too new for it to be up there yet, so I sent out a few tweets and an email to our Money Gym Google groups. It took a couple of days but Carrie Eddins emailed the speech back for me to use in my presentation on success on the “Really Useful Internet Day”
When I thanked her, thinking she must have had it downloaded or something, she said”I walked past the cinema, and thought..if it ’s screened when I walk past then I will watch it again.. and it was. I watched it missed a bit and then it was immediately screened again!! It was fun in the end!!”
Wow, thanks again Carrie, that’s helpfulness above and beyond the call of duty! Our google group and the people in it, is amazing. Just think, if that’s the Silver level group support, imagine what the Money Gym Boardroom google group will be able to do for YOUR business!
Then up to London a day earlier than planned, to appear on Tamkin Riaz’s Property Pulse live TV show. At the last minute, he called and said, it’s an Islamic station, can you bring a scarf to cover your hair? As it happens I collect lovely scarfs and have quite a selection so I took a few so I would co-ordinate with any background!
The tv studio was in Walthamstow and owned by Imam Qasim Rashid Ahmad, founder of one of the biggest Islamic Charity organizations, the Al Khair Foundation and is also one of the most respected Islamic Scholar’s, well known in the British media and globally.
Everyone was very nice and friendly while I was there and the Property Pulse show went out to over 30 million people worldwide, with the callers phoning in from all over, including Dubai. Tamkin has two shows on the station, with the second being “I Mean Business” and his friend Lance Cunningham is working to get the station streaming live from the website very soon.
Onto the train and off to check in at the hotel, which was The Langham
and when the taxi pulled up, and the very sweet smiling doorman opened the taxi door for me, I had one of those weird flashback moments.
You have probably heard me talk about “faking it till you make it” where I’m referring to finding little luxury things to do that don’t cost a lot but make you feel wealthy. Back in 1999, one of the things I did was go for afternoon tea, all by myself, at a posh London hotel, and dream of the day when I could stay in such a hotel. Yes, you’ve guessed it, it was the Langham I came to for tea that day, and here I was, getting out of a taxi, about to stay there. Exactly 10 years (and probably around 10,000 hours) later.
What can I say about the hotel? It was gorgeous! Staff going the extra mile all the time, nice room with a huge bathroom and dressing area, great big comfy bed, with lovely duvet and pillows. I went out to get a quick french manicure (booked by the concierge at Selfridges Beauty Salon natch!) and then go to Tamkin’s tv show, and came back to find the turn-down service had been in, and laid out all my toiletries in neat lines on white flannels on the side of the sink. Lucky they were Clinique and not Number 7 LOL. The bed was all ready to get in, with a lovely little mat and slippers right beside it so my bare princess tootsies didn’t have to touch the carpet at any stage! Wow, did I feel looked after, which is just what you need before a big event.
Sarah came up the night before to stay, and we had proper afternoon tea, just to celebrate, because the first time I had tea there, I could only afford a pot of tea not the gorgeous full-on affair we had this time.
Steve arrived and the three of us went out to the hotel bar (great music) for a cocktail, then out for dinner at OZER at the top of Regent Street, described as a “sumptuous, atmospheric restaurant that draws on the vast culinary influences of the Ottoman Empire, prepared and served with a light, modern touch”. Very nice.
Judith tells me she is in negotiation with Ozer to hold the Saturday night party there at June 2010’s Wealth Conference, all included in your ticket price. Wow!
What can I say about the “Really Useful Internet Day”? Brett was amazing as always, starting and closing the day for us, while Martin Avis described how he uses a simple text ezine, sent twice a week, to create his six figure plus income, and the do’s and don’t’s of writing an ezine. I had a couple of very hair-raising speaker type moments with the technology, my slides not being there when I was ready to start, among them. Steve raised a laugh by waggling the internet lead about in the air behind me, when I was wondering why there was no internet connection….
My talk was all on success, and what makes the difference between those who don’t even start, or give up too soon, and those who go on to succeed bigtime. I’m working on the next Money Gym book around just that topic and I’m fascinated by it at the moment. Talking of which, I picked up this quote from Michelle Kulp, on Jeff Walker’s blog, about one of the key ingredients of success….
“THE MAGIC OF 51! When you move 10% towards your dream, the Universe moves 10%, when you move 20%, the Universe moves 20%, when you move 30%, the Universe moves 30%…and so forth. BUT, and this is a big BUT…until you cross over to moving 51% towards your dream, you are just “involved” not really “committed.” **When you move to 51% towards your Dream, then the MAGIC happens…The Universe completes the other 49% because now you have shown that you are fully Committed”
Michelle is talking about Internet Marketing but I believe it’s equally true of anything….including Financial Freedom. She goes on to say
“Internet Marketing is for the committed. For those with the burning desire in their heart and that no matter what obstacles appear on their path, they will never ever give up. Quitting is not an option! It’s a long journey, a long learning curve, and once you have paid your dues, the big pay days will come”.
After my presentation, I then officially launched the new Money Gym Product, The Boardroom,
by giving away the first place to someone in the audience – Suzanne Barnett. We love to carry on the old tradition in The Money Gym, of giving away the first place to any new MG product – I did it back in 2003 with five places on Money Gym Gold
Susanne is going into business with Eileen Bowley, who you may remember came second in last year’s “Gold For Christmas” competition, so the two of them (and their new business) will benefit so that’s very cool. Can you imagine starting a brand new business with 18 highly skilled business people, plus Judith and myself, on your Board of Directors? That’s what Suzanned won on Saturday and that prize is going to be worth far more than the investment in The Boardroom, to Suzanne and Eileen over time.
We also raised over £2500 for The Big Issue, which was wonderful too, of course, and they kindly sent an update of how they are using the money we gave them from the Property Extravaganza.
CHANGE TO THE LOOK/FEEL OF THE EZINE
Now, we are changing the look of the ezine a bit over the coming months, inspired by Martin’s talk on Saturday. Instead of a weekly “Note From Nicola” we are going to experiment with rotating this section round me, Judith and our coaches so that you get a look into the work The Money Gym does across the board, not just what I’ve been up to that week!
We want you to know that, at The Money Gym, the wealth coaching goes on behind the scenes all the time, with clients achieving massive and long-lasting changes in their financial lives and success in their businesses – be it online or offline.
We would love your feedback on this, and you can use the “Share Your Thoughts” link at the top of this post, just by the title there, on this post or any future ones. Let’s give those coaches some support eh?
Have fun!
Nicola
