Joint Ventures RIP! Long Live Strategic Partnerships

This week has been an interesting one in the world of both business success and internet marketing.  The excellent Stompernet faculty has opened it’s long closed doors to a limited number of new students and what is rapidly growing into the “must join” membership site / online university has been following the classic “product launch formula” method of giving away great content before selling anyone anything.

Attraction marketing at it’s finest.

One of the things that Stompernet have been giving away, is lots and lots of free videos on improving your rankings in the Search Engines.  Check out those and their fantastic new and totally free tool to find out what Google sees when it visits your site here >>>

Another is Brad Fallon, founder of Stompernet, together with one of my mentors Rich Schefren, discussing on some great videos on why you should stop thinking in terms of quick and dirty Joint Ventures (where you just mail for them and they mail for you) and start thinking in terms of value-adding strategic partnerships.

Think about who you could work with on a long term basis, that you

1.  Like – this is very important
2.  Respect – you have to feel happy recommending them and their company
3.  Know have unique content that you don’t have that your subscribers / members would enjoy/benefit from

We have long been a fan of this in The Money Gym, with our existing alliances with those who we consider to be the best in their field, such as our “Money Gym Presents….Our Favourite Experts” workshop presenters, but specifically Passive Investments, Tamkin Riaz, Marcus De Maria, Alan Forrrest Smith and now Tim Brocklehurst, Brett McFall, Claire Raikes, and Dave Lee, The Cashflow Investor (see Wealth Highway article today).

But it’s all been a bit informal and I’m starting to think about making it more formalised and also more reciprocal in some cases.

Wealth Coach Diaries: Nicola’s Week

I’ve hosted two absolutely fascinating webinars since last week’s ezine, with Claire Raikes, the “Business Blog Angel” and Tim Brocklehurst “MyViralSpiral”. Covering wide ranging topics from internet marketing to business success, it was interesting to note that I don’t “know” either of them in the traditional sense, but because of their web presences, their recommendations and the fact that the Money Gym is a client of Tim’s and Judith is a client of Claire’s, we not only felt comfortable, but had a rocking good time!

You can hear both webinars at http://www.MoneyGymRadio.comI could have talked to Claire for hours for sure (but we had another call lined up!) and Tim and I did over-run somewhat…….I can’t wait to see them both in action at the “Money Gym Presents……The Internet” workshop next Saturday. Why not see if there are any early bird places left?

Steve has revamped our Affiliates page too, which looks much better and easy to use now. There are some graphics to use – book covers and banners for the site, and some code for videos you can put on your site very easily. The membership site makes layout a bit tricky but Steve is really getting his head around it – combination of techie and arty – so it’s much easier to use now. If you want to recommend The Money Gym, there are lots of ways to do that and earn some passive income so check out his new page – renamed the Affiliate Center

Summer, as usual, has taken me completely by surprise, this year, although my first born, Phoebe’s birthday on 3rd May, traditionally signals a burst of hot weather…….I well remember labouring through the hot night in my water bath overlooking Wormwood Scrubs (o yes!) which combination of pain and heat did NOT make for very attractive after-birth photos!!

Wealth Coach Diaries: Nicola’s Week

twitterjudith Wealth Coach Diaries: Nicolas Week The last two weeks have been SO hectic with my speaking gigs (two in one week) and two Money Gym workshops back to back, that we missed an ezine – quelle horror! My business partner, fellow blogger and now twitterer extraordinaire, Judith Morgan, sums it all up brilliantly here (makes me feel quite exhausted reading it) – she is so funny!

We are hosting the first fr*ee webinar to kick off the marketing for our next Money Gym workshop (all about the internet) this Friday at 2pm so if you want to find out more about using blogging to enhance your business check out the info here, you can listen later if you can’t make it live. claire lunch w100 Wealth Coach Diaries: Nicolas Week

I have made time (while travelling and before nodding off) to read two AMAZING books this week – the first is called “The Money Making Magic of A Funfair Goldfish (& Other Get Rich Quick Secrets Of A Mattress Bound Millionaire)” by John Harrison, owner of Streetwise Publications. Awesome, practical and funny, you need to treat yourself to this one. His take on the people who hang out in kiddies ball parks nearly made me laugh out loud on the train to London.

The other has had a most profound effect on me, and it’s called “The Love Trap” by Annie Bennett. Recommended by my first ever coach, Rachel Turner, who also banged on about “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” for ages before I bought it…..duh!

It’s a true story of the author’s repeating patterns of falling in love too quickly and choosing the recipients unwisely, culminating in a certain situation that has to be read, to be believed!. She then goes onto explain how her childhood had influenced her choices and why, and as a trained psychotherapist and counsellor, she knows what she is talking about!

It’s all about how certain childhood traumas such as “abandonment” and “enmeshment” can have such a dramatic effect on your adult relationships – leading to your becoming either a “love addict” or “love avoider” – the two being remarkably similar in lots of ways, and often drawn to each other. These two personality types are quite liable to become addicts in other ways, and again, I found it very interesting as I’m on my diet again and doing really well except when I get into certain lonely/abandoned type situations – hotel rooms for example!

I found the book gripping, moving, fascinating and enlightening, having grown up with a mentally ill mum, who simultaneously used to disappear for periods of time with no warning or explanation, then come back, turn my world upside down and then lean on me totally for everything from looking after the babies, to supporting her through relationship turmoil.

I felt quite set free, by reading this book, because it’s great to know that the way you are and feel is not unusual, and I feel the benefits are only just starting.

What else is happening?

Oh, on a much lighter note LOL the sales of the cabins on our Money Gym Holidays cruise are going well – I think there are about 6-7 cabins left. So if you fancy coming away with us, and some top line internet marketers, bringing the family (kids are really well looked after on cruises) and having a great time in grey old January, visit http://www.themoneygym.com/holidays and secure your place. Loads of great Money Gym bonuses including the chance to learn how to play Texas Hold’em with me!

Off shopping in Brighton now, a 13 year old’s birthday is looming!

Have fun, we ALWAYS are!
