The Money Gym has just launched The Boardroom, a way for your business to access a crack business team, 18 of your very own non-executive directors, plus Judith Morgan and Nicola Cairncross. As well as making a very special launch offer of a third off your first year’s membership, Nicola & Judith are hosting a daily radio show, where they help each caller create an extra £10,000 in just 90 days from their existing business.
Today’s caller on The Money Gym “£10k In 90 Days” Challenge on our BlogTalkRadio show was Yvonne Halling with her champagne related business http://www.MadAboutBubbly.com
Quick bit of background: Yvonne’s husband Jiles is an expert on Champagne and among other parts of the business, like corporate champagne tastings, they own a beautiful house in the Champagne region of France which is available for holidays, sleeps 12 and rents for £1500 a week or £125 pp if you have 12, or £250 for the week if you only have 6 of you. Very reasonable and it IS lovely, having been Yvonne & Jiles’ home previously.
Their website is currently being overhauled by Marion Ryan, Money Gym coach and blog/web expert so that’s coming along and looks great. This will give them the flexibility to add / change the site whenever they like and will be very search engined friendly (search engines love blog sites!)
Jiles has written an ebook which is garnering rave reviews, and they are working on a follow up DVD right now. They already have a number of videos on YouTube which I found by searching “mad about bubbly” although their channel is called http://www.youtube.com/user/jileshalling (see below for my comments on improving their branding).
We established on the 15 minute radio show that their fastest route to making “£10k In 90 Days” was to get let their house in Champagne for 7 weeks out of the 12 of the challenge period, and we came up with the idea of an virally marketed, online competition, using Social Networking via Twitter, a Facebook page and ideally joint venture mailings, where people can win a week in the house as a prize.
I also worked out that, if they sold 5-10 ebooks a day, they would make an extra “£10k In 90 Days” especially if they pre-sold the DVD bundled with the ebook, and that I would be looking at a Google Adwords campaign to drive extra traffic to the ebook sales page…….more on this below.
As time was extremely limited on the radio show, we have decided to take the follow up onto the blog here, where I will outline our suggestions, and my proposed plan of action, Judith can contribute, Yvonnne can add her thoughts, and get coached over the next 90 days to make the challenge actually happen!
What fun!
My Book, His Book & VIP Bookings

Last weekend I went to London to speak for Neil Asher’s clients – over 120 people in the Millenium Sloane St who were bright, interactive and well up for learning new things. Neil had a good solid lineup of speakers and I was delighted to find Money Gym coach Philly Fuggle there as Paul was speaking about Total Business Cart the next day.
My talk went well and we attracted two new clients to Membership Club Magic. Two other nice surprises were two people in the audience – Geoff who I hadn’t seen since the Coachville conference in Las Vegas and a lady (Carole? So sorry, I was on a post talk adrenaline high and I don’t think you gave me a card!) who had coached me back in the very early days at one of Bob Griffith’s hot seat coaching days in London – you were trying to encourage me to raise my rates from £279.50 a month to over £300 and I was very resistant apparently.
Well I’ve so got over that and she was very pleased to hear it. I think the difference is that I know the value of what I deliver. And of course, I don’t need personal coaching clients as my main income is via the Money Gym, but I choose to work with a few people at a time, purely on internet related stuff, because I enjoy it.
Then I stayed up for dinner – a great Indian with a crowd of Neil’s closest clients and friends, and then up early to go to Heathrow for a rather disappointing event, where they were expecting 400 but only 90 showed for the first day,and only about 45 for the Sunday. Added to that, a couple of unfortunatel incidents made my talk popular but not very successful in terms of attracting new clients, but I enjoyed seeing Michael Young, meeting Yvonne from the African & Caribbean Business Network and it’s always a joy to hear Andy Harrington speak – he was particularly good this time!
The big news this week is that I’ve not only started to re-write my Money Gym book, but that process started me mindmapping / planning the next one. Then, all of a sudden, it started to pour out of me! I just couldn’t help myself!

Business Success | Are You Ready To Crush It?

Isn’t life weird? Weird and wonderful all at the same time. A couple of years ago I signed up for Rich Schefren’s BGS (Business Growth System) live coaching programme and one of the included audios had an interview with a guy called Gary Vaynerchuk.
Man, he was LOUD!
I loved the interview though, and so I’ve been following Gary ever since, online, as he walked the talk, building his mum and dad’s wine store to a multi-million business, using 10-minute wine tasting videos on YouTube. I watched as he created WineLibrary.tv and became more famous, almost accidentally, sought after for his passionate talks at seminars and big corporate keynote speeches. As he almost accidentally built …

Gary Vaynerchuk is a manic genius and I love him! He is just my new hero even though he’s only 32 or something mad.
Check out this little golden nugget on integrity and success without compromise on that integrity. I’m reminded of Dr. Stephen R. Covey’s (author of “7 Habits Of Highly Effective People”) motto of doing what’s right, not what’s necessarily easy.
God, I SO lost sight of this just a very few years ago – along with lack of focus – and I’m still paying the price. But I will make it all right in the end, I will, I will.
So thanks Gary, for reminding us how to make good decisions every single day.

I am a new fan of Gary Vaynerchuk, having been introduced to him by Rich Schefren, via the audio for Rich Schefren’s business acceleration coaching programme, which I’ve been on for over a year now.
Here, Gary demonstrates how powerful video blogging can be, and makes me determined to do more of it, using my FlipVideo. I’m off to speak on Wealth Creation and Business Success in Yorkshire, for the Institute of Directors, leaving tomorrow, so I’ll dig it out, and do my best!
In the meantime, here’s that video blog from Gary. Check out the location!

** It is not to late to help The Money Gym help Alan Forrest Smith’s World Internet Challenge to save acres and acres of rainforest and the people who live there – The Money Gym readers have raised over $1000 so far towards his goal of $100,000 in just FOUR DAYS – visit here to find out more http://www.worldinternetchallenge.com/ – but don’t donate there – and then go here to find out how to claim all our free goodies too! **
I’m keeping a running total and listing those who donate with a link to their website (good for your SEO) here and you can check out my leery taste in dressing gowns too >>>>
Apart from all that excitement, there has been more!! My brain is completely fried this week…..
Every now and then something comes along on the internet and you just know in your heart that it’s gonna be huge and that you have got to learn it quick. Just such a thing came along yesterday lunchtime, in between two of my internet marketing mentoring clients.
I was idly checking my Twitter conversations and I noticed Ed Dale twittering to someone else about a live TV broadcast from one of his “Thirty Day Challenge” mentee’s (is that a word?) and saying that we had to check it out. Something made me click and over I went.
And my life changed. Bam! And forever, I suspect.
I don’t think of myself as a very early adopter (took me ages to cotton onto the benefits of using Facebook, MySpace, YouTube etc) but I jumped on this one alright. Check us out at www.TheMoneyGym.tv
From first reading about it and then grasping what it was (about 5 mins) and then from the lightbulb moment to the account / profile implementation (15 minutes), then to live show being broadcast (4.5 hours – and that last would have been quicker if I had not had some other coaching calls).
Bless my clients, they had to have the first five minutes or so, listening to me banging on about this too!
This is one intuitive bit of software! I love software that you can puzzle out just by looking at it and then clicking around – does that make me Visual/Kinaesthetic, I wonder?
Especially as it auto-connects with (mashes up with?) Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter, not to mention interating with your blog (via Twitter for Wordpress and Typepad users at the moment).
So what is it?
Live TV, broadcast from your office or home……or anywhere really. So what? You may ask.
Well think about how YouTube has taken off – and how many accidental mega-stars have been created via YouTube.
Gary Vaynerchuck on WineLibrary.tv for starters. He’s getting 60,000 views per day on his wine tasting programmes on YouTube. See Gary in action here >>>>
Well, this website – called Justin.tv after the REALLY young guy who started it – is YouTube on steroids.
Kathy Sierra at her presentation at SXSW last weekend had a great take on why Gary has become so famous and his show’s so watched.
She thinks that Gary is succeeding not because he’s entertaining and educated about wine, but because he makes his viewers more entertaining and educated about wine.
And not least because his viewers feel a really strong sense of connection with him because they are interacting with him on the blog in the first person, telling their stories of trying new wines and how they are enjoying their wine more. See Kathy and Gary in action here >>>
Now, I would LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU to become more inspirational and educated. I would really love you to interact with me more and tell me your stories. And more importantly I would love you to tell us what you need from us, to help you in your wealth creation journey.
Here is the easiest fun ways to do that:
1. Come to one of our Let’s Talk Money days – next one in April http://www.TheMoneyGym.com/LetsTalkMoney
2. Watch and chat live with me on one of my new TV shows – http://www.MoneyGym.tv
3. Join us on one of our Wealth Surgery webinars on the 1st Tuesday evening of every month – more info at http://www.TheMoneyGymClub.com – join free, login and then register for the webinar at the “Next Events > Tele-Seminars” link on the left hand side.
4. Comment on the blog at http://www.TheMoneyGym.com/Blog – after every post there is a “comments” link and if you click that, you can leave your comment (they are moderated but I get an email immediately and approve everything except Spam)
Have fun, we most certainly are this week!

You ARE The Brand!
by Nicola Cairncross on February 28, 2008
in Money Gym | Diaries
God! Business is confusing sometimes. Perhaps it’s the drugs* but it’s been one of those weeks when everyone and everything seems to contradict each other.
Skimming the video clips from Rich Schefren’s conference in Disneyworld, I was struck by Gary Vaynerchuck’s assertion that “you are the brand” which is on message for Rich’s coaching programmes and reports, and all part of becoming a “maven in your marketplace” but pretty much the opposite of what we are taught, when building a business.
We have all known for a while, post “E-Myth Revisited” that, if you want to build a business that you can sell, you can’t be the business or it lessens the value of that business. Nobody will want to buy a business that depends on you being there for it to work. But is the business depending on you, different from you being the brand?
Gary goes on to say that by positioning yourself alongside higher placed experts – like I’m doing here in a way, with Rich and Gary – you are building their brand not yours. You need to start building yourself as the expert – and this is something I’ve been hearing from Alan Forrest Smith recently too. We’ve been working with Alan quite a bit on our marketing and it drives him mad when I’m too generous in crediting my mentors.
Well, I hear what Gary says – and he certainly has done that with his video wine blog - but Rich certainly positioned himself alongside some internet marketing greats initially, and he credits Jay Abrahams all the time.
Confused? You will be.
Hmmm, going back to the selling of the business aspect here….. Read more..
