Wealth Coach Diaries: Nicola’s Week

Last week I kicked off my weekend by having lunch with Paul stanford, of http://www.4Momentum.co.uk who is both a poker buddy and whom I am mentoring on his business internet marketing strategy.  We tried out Andy Quinn’s “infamous” Pork & Leek sausages with Apricot Mash and a rich jus, at the Crown & Anchor, and very nice it was too!  Combining business with pleasure in lots of different ways.  Paul’s invited me to Ladies Day at Brighton Races on Thursday so I really must get shopping and look for my big straw hat.

Just as we were finishing there, I got a call from my little sister sarah to say she was off to Rugby to a house (music) party with some DJ mates of her’s from http://www.Dogglounge.com who have a club in Second Life, and there were a bunch of nutty Dutch Second Life maties coming over too, and did I want to come.  As I had no kids for the weekend, I thought I may as well (as my only plans previous were to go and buy some fabric and make a shirt, with a quiet dinner in).

So I jumped in the car, packed a bag, got picked up and the next thing I know, I’m in a sunny courtyard garden in Rugby, grooving to some seriously deep and funky house music with sis and some new best friends including Martina who used to be resident DJ at Pasha, Ibiza for a few years.  Then we all bundled off to a three floor nightclub in Leamington Spa where we took over the middle floor and partied till …..well, it must have been about 4am.

I would show you the pictures on Flickr but then I would have to…LOL

Waking about lunchtime, in the B&B attached to the offices of Mark, the DJ/Entrepreneur who organised the whole thing, we hung out for a while, eating bacon and eggs the dutch way (very tasty) washed down with some virgin Sea Breezes, and some not so.  Home down a very hot M1 to arrive just in time for a barbeque at my friend Kim’s where I briefly saw a rare species in the distance – the lesser spotted 13 year old daughter.

The kids are running wild, moving from house to house on the beach, swimming all day every day (the towel washing load is horrendous but hey!) and just hanging out with their mates, which is great fun.  This is why we moved here!

Even my 11 year old is cycling around daily to hang out with his friends – not opened his laptop for a week – and I have introduced them all to the joys of the one-bus-an-hour-but-not-on-Sundays so they can stop begging for lifts all the time.

Actually one of the reasons he has not opened his laptop was because he coudn’t find it.  He usually carries it about in a Yanik Silver “Underground UK” event bag – just the right size and very cool.  It disappeared on Monday and after 5 days intense questioning of said son and the various mothers of the houses he had been staying at, retracing of steps etc., finally it turned up in ANOTHER Yanik Silver bag, in the WARDROBE in his bedroom.

Nobody had thought to look in there because, of course, they NEVER put anything away.

Monday night was poker night, and I missed the first game because something was kicking off at home, can’t remember what now, and I played terribly in the second but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Quiet kind of rest of the week till today, except for a Steve tippy top notch bar-be-que on Tuesday, first of season, but managed to get down the beach once….and if the weather picks up I fully intend to go down every day now it’s August.

Today was a big product launch day, with notification from John Reese that his “Traffic Secrets 2″ is being shipped today, and also, Tim Brocklehurst’s DVD boxed set, from the Freedom Class weekend we went on, was launched today after a hiccup with the payment gateway yesterday – I can only IMAGINE how stressful that was!

I love a good product launch – well, watching them anyway!

Having fun in the sun…..

Wealth Coach Diaries: Nicola’s Week

This week I co-hosted a “Rent To Own / House For £1″ evening at the Burlington Hotel in Worthing, with David Lee and his lovely wife, on one of the hottest days of the year so far.  We had a bumper turnout with over 30 property investors and aspiring RentToOwn’ers there and it was great to meet new friends and old – Hi Mandy, David and Tyrone!

bluerocksmall Wealth Coach Diaries: Nicolas WeekWell the big day is finally here – my sister Heather Cairncross’ second “Gira Con Gershwin” concert at the Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham.  She previously performed it at the Arundel Festival last year and it was so well recieved she was persuaded to put it on again.  Tickets were slow to move at first, but once we set up the Heather Cairncross fanclub on Facebook, and I enouraged her to email her Arundel list a couple more times, we started to get some ticket sale action.

Kept telling her, you gotta touch people about 7 times with your sales message in different ways….and I hope she will let me do a Jeff Walker “product launch formula” with her next time.  Singing postcards by email, now there’s a thought….

I was hoping to beam it live from my laptop via http://www.Justin.tv/wealthcoach but I’m not sure the main concert hall has wireless broadband – it certainly does not get a mobile phone signal *sigh*.

Talking of product launches, Tim Brocklehurst is warming up to release the DVD’s of his Freedom Class weekend, which we all went on recently.  YOu can see Steve being uncharacteristially outgoing here while you watch these 8 excellent short videos about viral marketing and the power we are all tapping into now http://viralurl.com/moneygym/actionfreedom

Tomorrow, as it’s a kid free weekend, I’m off to lunch with one of my poker buddies, Paul Stanford, small business specialist.  Check out his fab new blog Steve made him… some great articles there already.  http://www.paulstanford.co.uk/blog/ – dont’cha just love that template which fitted his existing branding so well.

Heather came to view the poker league this week and met some of my poker buddies, including Paul.  She might come and play soon but Monday is jazz night at the Hare & Hounds in Worthing and it takes a lot to tear her away from live jazz.

I’ve just been called away from writing this, to film Steve’s golf swing with my little Flip Video camera….one of the more esoteric uses for it….LOL.  He’s got a bit of a loop going on and his mum will be consistently beating him until he fixes it apparently.  I would upload it to Viddler.com for your enjoyment and/or tips, but I fear he would, then, be justified in leaving!

Now, are you having fun in the sun?  We are!

Nicola
