A month in the life of a Wealth Coach…

Margaret CollinsThe last month included Christmas and New Year. Routinely these are times for family and celebration, times accompanied by their own joys and stresses. In the Collins household there were plenty of both!

Christmas was a pleasure. Once I’d got used to the fact that my partner had invited everyone for Christmas dinner… well maybe not absolutely everyone but we did cook dinner for 12 which is the most I’ve ever had to cope with! Actually it did go pretty well, even if I say so myself. Food was on the table only 20 minutes later than predicted and the worst thing to happen was splitting a bag of frozen peas and throwing them all over the cooker with 5 minutes to go! (We’re still finding stray peas in the most surprising of places!).

My greatest professional activity over this time was project managing a property refurbishment. We bought a house before Christmas. It badly needed a rewire so we figured it was better to do the job properly before we moved in. There was also the possibility of significantly upgrading a bathroom and kitchen so we got together a team…

Dave the builder is great and masterminded most things really efficiently. He’s a real “can do” builder and so refreshing to work with. Bill the plumber was also a real asset to the team, turning his hand to wallpaper stripping in the quieter moments between plumbing jobs. The only slight problem with our choice of plumber was that he lived in Ystrad Mynach and drove a Ford Focus. Now don’t get me wrong. There’s normally nothing wrong with those choices, but given that South Wales, along with the rest of the country has experienced the heaviest snowfall for 20 years, there were times I wished we’d picked a plumber who lived in Roath and drove a 4 x 4! Still to his credit, Bill has been there when we needed him and his ability to “lend a hand” has been a great asset.

Wealth Coach Diaries | A Note From Judith

by Judith Morgan on January 20, 2010
in Money Gym | Diaries

2010 crept in under a blanket of snow, rather than coming in with the more customary bang.   After my month off in the Caribbean sunshine, sub-zero temperatures came as quite a shock delaying my return to full productivity still further in a way I rather enjoyed as it gave me at least three weeks to be acclimatising, thinking, planning and working on my financial intentions for the year.

There will be changes, of course.   There always are.   And no matter how distressing while we come to terms with them, in our heart of hearts we all know that change is good for us and that it all works out for the best in the end.   Whatever you have planned for your own new year, I hope it’s a good one.

Now, what has this Wealth Coach been up to in the last couple of weeks?

Weekly Wealth Webinars, Wednesdays at 11 a.m.

The Money Gym saw the beginning of term on Wednesday last week with our weekly wealth webinar at 11 a.m.   We run these now in three terms of 12 weeks and we rotate the topics between general wealth creation in the first week, followed by Mainly About Property, Mainly About Business and Mainly About the Internet on each of the following three weeks, then repeating the pattern three times in each term.   The general wealth creation call is open to all our clients including Silver and then all the other calls are for current and past Gold, Platinum and Boardroom clients.   They are generally all recorded so if you are entitled to attend but unable to do so, you can listen again later.   You can call in live or listen live on the web too.

How do you join?   Log into the Money Gym website and go to the home page of your level of membership and hit on the Webinar Access button which takes you to a further page with two buttons which lead to the schedule on one and the access details on another.

If you are a Silver member, note the dates for your diary of 10th February and 10th March and then the next two terms start (with Silvers again) on 21st April and 8th September.   If you don’t know whether or not you are entitled to attend, or you have forgotten how to log into the website or can’t find the information you need, then do please let us know.   We send weekly reminders to all current clients and usually one annual reminder to all alumni who are welcome to join or re-join us at any time then want another boost with their wealth creation activities.   Wednesdays at 11, come on down.

Money Gym Google Groups

Similarly we have been reconnecting with our community via all our Google Groups where topics of interest over the last twenty days have included investing in Champagne, rent2own, Facebook fan pages, buying and selling businesses, membership club sites, Cashflow, article marketing, Twitter, 2010 goal-setting, estate agents, time management tools, sales training, proof-reading, saving money, thriftiness, recipes, making videos, manifestation, debt, credit ratings, Warren Buffet, rooms to rent and sharing resources.   Phew!

I notice that one of our groups has 260 members and Google describes its activity as “low”.  Everything’s relative, Google! Plenty are overwhelmed by their membership of any single one of our Google groups let alone all of them.   There are ways to cope with this.   You never need to keep a single email because they are all archived on each group’s website and keyword searchable. You can set your membership to send you a daily digest instead of an email each time anyone posts and you can operate my favoured Scan/Delete policy which means I have deleted all those I receive before bedtime every day, having replied to any where I have something to offer.   Simple.

Out and About

Nicola and I had lunch with uber successful Neil Asher last week and we both went for the recession-beating £8.25 menu at Carluccio’s and Neil paid.   Boy did he get a bargain!   The two of us for that price.   Neil describes himself in an email to me today as a “self-made multi millionaire with seven businesses in five countries”, just the sort of chap you want to have buy you lunch on a bleak Thursday in snowy January.   He looks like Davie Bowie which was a bit of a surprise and he wasn’t in the least bit phased by Nicola and I chatting, laughing and coming up with ideas and stories at top speed on the hoof.

He’s very abundant, and wrote later to ask after my Top 10 Wish List for 2010 in case he could help me achieve any of them and offering his hopes that we would develop a great friendship in time.

I must confess to having to ask Nicola and Neil himself “were you truly wafted here from Paradise?” – you just don’t often see such giving and abundance.   What a role model.

Your Compass In The Fog Of Overwhelm

Nicola here from The Money Gym,writing to you on 1st January 2010 with my third very important message….

Think about this for a second………..

In the olden days, humans were able to find their way around the globe, in any kind of weather, even if the fog was so bad they were unable to see a few feet in front of themselves….

How did they do that?

http://www.TheMoneyGym.com/silverelite

They were able to find their way forward because they had some deceptively simple tools…

Tools that were simple to use but were so sophisticated that they delivered exceptional results every time…results you could depend on…

Those tools were….

The Stars and a Compass.

Yep, that’s pretty much all they used to sail ships across the vast oceans, to go somewhere so far away it literally took months, if not years to get there and then to come safely home again.

Would it surprise you to discover that there are some deceptively simple tools you can use too, to navigate your way through all the financial confusion you might be experiencing right now?

Well, no!  I’m not going to tell you about those tools, I’m going to show you….how to create and use them yourself.

http://www.TheMoneyGym.com/silverelite
Warm regards

Nicola, Judith & The Money Gym Team

P.S.      Watch our brand new video to discover some of the simple but effective tools we use to navigate our way around our financial world!

A Year In The Life Of The Money Gym

by NicolaCairncross on December 22, 2009
in Money Gym | Success

I read recently that, in business, you should never rehash what didn’t/doesn’t work but always focus on what works/worked and do more of that.  Simple but profound!

So I’m not going to do a roundup of what went well for the Money Gym (and me personally) and what didn’t go so well, I’m going to focus only on our successes and triumphs which will make for some pretty uplifting reading as we go into Christmas eh?

The year kicked off in January with the Internet Marketers Cruise in the Caribbean which was an absolute blast!  I took my sister, all our kids and hooked up with some lovely Money Gym clients including Susanne Jorgensen and Jane P Lewis and we had so much fun.  I got to go to a private cocktail party in Jennie Armato’s stateroom and hang out with Mike Filsaime, Michael Green and Robert G Allen among others.  A shooting star across the sky topped off the night perfectly.  I also made my karaoke debut that trip, singing “You Give Me Something” by James Morrisson very badly and we both met some wonderful new friends, not least at the poker table (Jennie won the poker tournament bringing glory to the girls)

January and February
saw more speaking gigs with WIN Investing and although their audience was not quite right for the Membership Club Magic presentation, we did attract some great clients although not in great numbers.  At the Manchester event I met Daniel Priestley for the first time and liked him on sight, which led to an invite to speak for Triumphant Events.

A Week In The Life Of Another Wealth Coach: Philly

Well the pregnant Wealth Coach is back and still intact, with just 1 week and 2 days to go.

You will be glad to hear we are a bit more organised than the last time I wrote, my office has finally been dismantled and has turned into a nursery now looks as though it is ready to accommodate a baby.  My new office, the kitchen table, has been doing a fabulous job at keeping me working this last week and you will be pleased to know that I am going to take a week off to relax and get the final bits sorted before the big arrival.

I have just finished my coaching sessions with my clients for this year and there is one client who really “WOWED” me this week who I want to tell you about.  He is driven, focused and always achieves, sometimes even without realising it.  During the year that I have been working with him, he has had a clear vision of his financial goals and has revisited them every quarter to make sure that he is on track and always encouraging himself to increase his targets so that he can achieve even higher results.  This week he sent me an email with the subject “Back of the envelope requirements for a £1m business for JFC”, with the content of the email being short and to the point what he is going to achieve in order to create this £1m business in 3 years.  Wow…. that just shouts success to me.  The pure clarity and vision and not being phased by the figures or goals, I just know that this client is going to achieve what he has set out to achieve.  Woo hoo!!

In between my final coaching calls, hospital appointments, funerals, putting up furniture and crawling around on all fours trying to get the baby to turn, I have been busy training our new recruit this week.  We have found someone who is going to take over our Outbound calls from me and wow what a jam packed fun week it has been.  She, like many others, has just graduated from University this year and has been out there looking for work with the masses and finding it hard with little experience.  We are so lucky to have her on board.  She is bright, young, keen, very enthusiastic to learn and really motivated to get her teeth into something.  By investing some quality time with her to train her up and give her the confidence to take on the role, I know that she is going to produce some fantastic results for us and continue to keep our customers happy.

Many of us really want to outsource, but we either never have the time to train someone up or trust anyone to do as good a job as we do so we tend to end up doing everything ourselves.  I have really learnt something this week, by entrusting my faith in her and really training her properly, I know that she is going to do a brilliant job and the fact that she will be focused on one task will bring in much better results than I do.

So now it is time for me to wind down, put my feet up, catch up on my sleep and relax before the fun starts.  Wishing you all a wonderful festive season, I will be back with my arms full in January to fill you in on all the gory details!! Enjoy

37 Reasons | The Good News About Property – Part #3

Day Three in my series about my favourite 37 Reasons why you might come to our Money Gym Property Extravaganza in London on 21st March in aid of the Big Issue. The Incentives. The Bribes. And what whoppers they are!

http://www.themoneygym.com/events/property

In no particular order of importance – you must rate that for yourself:

1. Prizes totalling £42,500 and rising – from a holiday in one of the overseas investment properties, to portfolio places worth £10,000, to mentoring, books, Wembley tickets, coaching sessions, Belgian chocolates, audio CDs, days out, lunches, Money Gym memberships and products, a blog makeover or creation session worth £1200 – the abundance just keeps on rolling.  And because the number of raffle tickets is only one per delegate, the chances of you winning a big prize are 1 in 200. I hope you are visualising the one you want? Can you feel it?

2. Discounts – at least two of the speakers have created special discounted versions of their products and services specially for attendees, available uniquely on the day.

3. Free Money Gym Silver memberships for 90 days – a special promotion we have just launched. If you have booked your ticket and can persuade someone else to come too – via Twitter, your blog, word of mouth or email invitation and they quote your name in their booking, both of you qualify for free Silver membership of the Money Gym for 90 days.

4. Goody bags containing millions of pounds, credit cards, coins, magic pencils and that all important raffle ticket (see 1).

5. A free personalised follow-up phone consultation with me for all delegates. This is to help you to evaluate the investment opportunities we shall showcase that day, or provide you with the support you need to put either your first step on the property ladder or the next step.

Can you be bribed? Yes, me too! If the price is right…

http://www.themoneygym.com/events/property

I hope it’s YOUR number I pull from the champagne bucket.

Judith

PS I’m contemplating setting up a special accountability group for all those new SilverMembers we shall create that day… watch this space.

Money Gym Property Investors Hope to Raise £4,500 for The Big Issue!

The Money Gym team is working together to put on a Property Extravaganza on 21st March 2009 in Central London. Tickets cost £25 including VAT and all ex VAT proceeds will be presented to The Big Issue Foundation on the day. One of our speakers, the ever-abundant Peter Stanley, has been wanting to set up a connection between property profits and helping the homeless for a number of years. I am delighted that finally we have been able to bring his vision to fruition. Peter will open the day with his talk demonstrating that Anyone Can Do It. He’s even offering a prize for the best reason on the day why the reverse is true!

At the time of writing, we have sold 111 tickets which means we can write TBI a cheque for £2391, but I want to give them nearly twice that, £4,500! In order to do that, I have to sell the remaining 89 tickets, the venue only holds 200.

So, what’s it all about then? It’s about The Good News about property investing in 2009. We have inspirational speakers, ordinary people who have made lots of money buying property and still continue to do so even in these current market conditions. Those speakers including Martin Roberts of TV’s Homes Under the Hammer and Hasmita Reardon who was Bradford & Bingley’s Property Woman of the Year award 2008 who has a portfolio of 80 properties in Sittingbourne, Kent, which she rents out to tenants nobody else wants. She’s a social entrepreneur in my book. And Rick Otton, Katharine Wooller and Abdul Malik.

The investments are suitable for people who want to put their first foot on the property ladder or their next one. They are for people with no money, no time and no know-how and conversely for the more experienced investor too. It will be a cracking day out which provides excellent networking opportunities in a relatively small group of wealth creators who are upbeat and positive and on the road to taking control of their own finances. There are over £42,000 worth of prizes in a holiday, Wembley tickets, books, memberships, portfolio places, mentoring, coaching and more from the very abundant speakers and colleagues who want to help this great cause.   And Goody Bags!

Will you help us please? Will you blog and Twitter this to get the campaign to go as viral as possible? If you let us know you have linked to this post, we should be able to track back to your post. If you can link it back to the this posting on the Money Gym’s blog, even better for you as this is a high traffic site.   If you can’t be bothered with all that trackback stuff (and who can blame you), do still please pass it on and help us help the homeless to help themselves.

Why not take the day off and come and join us in London’s West End? If you can persuade a friend to book and come too, there’s a special gift for both of you – 90 days Silver Membership of the Money Gym with our compliments!

Please help us to raise our £4,500 target by using all social media methods at your disposal and let’s have some fun with this viral campaign!

Thank you so much for supporting our goal. Click here for full details and booking

Kilts, Coaching Your Coach & Kicking 2009 Into Touch

So we missed the great “recession busting” OrangeBeetle party at the castle in Scotland, but we don’t have to miss out on Alan’s stirring speech for business owners in 2009 which was captured for YouTube of course.

I hope I can persuade him to make sure the next one doesn’t clash with the Internet Marketers Cruise next year, as I love a bit of tartan and scottish country dancing (well, I did go to school in Scotland for a while…).

It’s weird how things work out isn’t it?

While I was on the cruise I decided to put it “out there” that I wanted to speak more on stage, particularly at big multi-speaker events, selling Money Gym products and raising the awareness of The Money Gym.  When it was my turn on the mic, I thought I would use the opportunity to ask the event organisers in the room, what info they would want me to send them, to get a chance at a gig.  That resulted in two offers, while on the cruise, Jennie Armato’s event in April in London, and Robert Puddy’s event with Paulie Sabol and Donna Fox in September.

But the very act of saying it out loud, in public, resulted in ole TUT stirring himself and I got back to an email from someone who I knew of, but didn’t know very well, offering me a trial speaking gig.

Last week I spoke for Darren Winters at his “Build Your Wealth” event in London, and he’s asked me back for London on 14th / 15th February and Manchester on 21st / 22nd February.  Why not come along

And then I got an email from Brett, asking if I’m coming to his Next Level event on the Gold Coast of Australia, also in April.  He also thinks he could fill a room of people interested in membership sites…..and Oh, and by the way, did I want to speak at his “Make Money While You Sleep”event in Sydney too?  How EXCITING is that??

So I’m on a Money Gym Silver & Gold Webinar and we are talking about goal setting and planning for success, and about how the biggest obstacles to achieving your goals are sometimes what Mark Forster calls your “anti-goals”.

For example, I really want to speak more and travel the world doing that, but I’ve realised while thinking about the possibly Australia trip, that one of my “anti-goals” around that are “but I don’t want to be away from home too much”.

I’m imagining that Steve would mind, and the kids would even notice I was gone!  I got coached myself fairly robustly by Judith and the clients and realised that I was probably hallucinating it all, so I spoke to both and they all said “go” it’s a brilliant opportunity!”  You can listen again here >

Duh!  Of course it is.  And of course I will.

While i was actually ON that call, I got a message from Mr OrangeBeetle himself, and Alan’s asked me to speak at an event he’s organising in March.

And THEN, when I finished the webinar and put the phone down to Alan, I get another call and it’s Darren again, booking me for the two other gigs he’s running in February.

Very, very odd.  But great!

All of this makes me realise that I really do have to go back on a diet again, with all these speaking gigs coming up.  The weight’s been creeping back on over the last two years or so – I’m not as big as I was when we all went to New York for T.Herv Ecker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive, but it’s going that way.  Unfortunately I just love good food and wine, the social aspect that comes with all that, and Steve’s good food is better than most.

But I must find a way to resist his spatch-cock’d chicken, his potato dauphinoise and particularly his molton chocolate pudding.  God help me!

Choc Pud07 Kilts, Coaching Your Coach & Kicking 2009 Into Touch

The cruise wasnt’t great for that either – the food was so good and the constant partying…oh my goodness.

But you can’t have everything can you?  And I’m getting to the age when, according to popular folklore, you have to choose between your face and your bum, look after one and the other goes haywire apparently.  Thin bum, you get wrinkles.  No wrinkles, you get a fat bum.

Whatever you are dreaming of for 2009, have a good think about the possible anti-goals or reasons why you might NOT want to achieve them.  Get them out in the open, throw some light on them and ask yourself “are they real or just hallucinations?”

If your goals include a website that makes money, why not register for my free Webinar this Wednesday – Membership Club Magic ?  Book your place here >>>

Have fun
We always do!

Money Gym Gold Video Entry – Hazel Croucher

And I think……..I think……..this is the last video entry.  Well done Hazel for breaking through and actually doing this!

Money Gym Gold Written Entry – Barry Curnow

And last but not least before the deadline was………Barry Curnow.  Barry says:

I came to London from the West Country 40 years ago with degrees in Economics and Organizational Psychology to seek my fortune. I am still actively seeking it! Having earned enough to retire by the age of 40, I chose instead to get married for the second time to my present wife. Our 21st wedding anniversary was on Christmas Eve.

In between I had a ‘successful’ corporate career as an international management consultant and am now a consultant to professional service firms. I was also volunteer leader of three UK and international professional institutes and co-authored several books on consulting and careers. I became a consultants’ consultant trading on my own account for the past 18 years: providing coaching, counselling , mentoring and psychotherapy by consultants for consultants and professional service firms and their clients. I have worked here in Europe and in Russia, China and the US.

The first low point was the collapse of my first marriage in 1981 from which I learned that it is no good being successful if you are flying all around the world and spend no time with your family.

The high point is the longevity and happiness of my (current) second marriage from which I have learned that happiness is priceless but it also has a cost and at this rate in the present economy I sometimes feel I shall never be able to retire , unless I win the competition and Nicola teaches me how!

The second (related) low point was having to sell our dream house in 2005 because we could no longer afford to keep it.

Of course Debbie Winterbourne is the favourite and I would vote for her too but I am going to ask you to vote for me.

Because what Debbie really needs now, even more than she needs Nicola is £12, 000 worth of consulting advice from me first! I have spent my life advising people how to build boutique service businesses with a value based integrity like Debbie’s and I can do it for her. That is what I do!

But what I really need is coaching from Nicola, now, so I can retire some day rather than go on working until I drop.

So Nicola, Debbie and all. Here is my proposition: vote for me and if I win, I will give Debbie £12,000 worth of professional consulting advice on how to build The Academy of Dreams.

It’s a win/win because our ages are the right way round and if Debbie wants further help after the £12k, then she can pay me in equity based incentive that will pay me something when I am old!

( Note to Debbie, I had seriously considered saying I would give you the business coaching anyway, which as a qualified Group Analyst and Psychotherapist and Certified Management Consultant-with a long Jungian analysis- I am well placed and keen to do-but if I did, people would have no reason to vote for me, so, sorry but I have to make it contingent!)

( Note to Nicola, I had seriously considered offering £12,000 worth of business coaching from me for you to offer as an extra prize to illustrate the win/win principle of leverage but if I did, you would have no reason to pick me and you might give it to someone other than Debbie who I would like to have a prize.)

So folks, for now, with only just over 20 minutes to go, my proposition stands.

I am interested in the internet and the stock market because I have already had 40 years of property and business. I want to build an internet business that draws on my face to face consulting to consultants business. The new frontier for the client consultant relationship management skills that I teach is social media/networking and Web 2.0.

Two for one Nicola! How about it?

Barry Curnow
