What Are You Worth?
by Margaret Collins, Money
Gym Wealth Coach
When working with coaching clients, at some stage during the process we usually reach the discussion about "What am I worth?".
Whether it's a client looking for a new job and wondering what salary to accept or a businesswoman wanting to know what to charge for her time or services.
Now there are many spiritual ways of answering this question but I'm thinking of the really practical, pounds, euro or dollars answer that most people need to address at some time.
There are many different ways of calculating what your time or product is worth...

Hi
Nicola,
I'm on #94 of
The Money Gym Wealth Tips 101
auto responder series (see the column on
your right).
It is in my opinion THE BEST online auto
responder series I have received in any
niche market!
It is elegant, enlightening and allows
readers to discover who you are -
consistently over-delivering valuable
content to your subscribers.
And Nicola, even though we haven't met face
to face, I am so impressed with the
contribution you make, especially to other
women. You are truly a beacon of light for
others.

This week we're in Lane #1: Business
Taming the Monster
by Judith Morgan
If
you are self-employed, what I am about
to say to you now may not apply to
you.
Because you might like pottering about at home, working
when you choose, and for whom you choose. You may have got
used to your in*come being lumpy and not mind. Because you
enjoy the freedom it brings. You are your own b*oss, and
leaving aside various uncertainties and the fact that you do
everything that needs doing, its great. Really, its great.
And if that is you, I'm happy for you.
Some days that's me too!
But what happens to most of us - if we are lucky, or
successful, or both - is that the business begins to...

a special Valentine
Quote of the week
"I love you,
Not only for what you are,
But for what I am
When I am with you.
I love you,
Not only for what
You have made of yourself,
But for what
You are making of me.
I love you
For the part of me
That you bring out;
I love you
For putting your hand
Into my heaped-up heart
And passing over
All the foolish, weak things
That you can’t help
Dimly seeing there,
And for drawing out
Into the light
All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked
Quite far enough to find.
I love you because you
Are helping me to make
Of the lumber of my life
Not a tavern
But a temple;
Out of the works
Of my every day
Not a reproach
But a song.
I love you
Because you have done
More than any creed
Could have done
To make me good
And more than any fate
Could have done
To make me happy.
You have done it
Without a touch,
Without a word,
Without a sign.
You have done it
By being yourself.
Perhaps that is what
Being a friend means,
After all."

Who else is afraid of having too much
money?
Annie Kaszina,
Money Gym Wealth Coach says:
Ok, so that is a typical Internet Marketer’s headline. And maybe it made you do a ‘double take’ for a moment. That was the intention behind it.
Some people will read that and their response will be: “Have too much money? Me? I don’t think so.
Not so long as there is
* property to buy and * investments to make and * holidays to enjoy and * performance cars to drive and * children to mop up the excess and * friends and family to treat and * more that I can tithe and * Jimmy Choo and Prada and Chanel”
All of this, of course, in whatever order floats your boat. (And, while we are on the subject, let’s not forget boats – yachts, maybe – and light aircraft. Or a football team.)
But perhaps as you read down the list you started to feel uncomfortable. It could be that...

A note from Nicola

Dear Friend
I’ve been reading some fantastic
books this last couple of weeks.
Starting with “Niche
Marketing For Coaches” by Hannah
McNamarah. This really is a brilliant
book for anyone in a service industry
actually – second only to the mighty “Get
Clients Now!” by CJ Hayden, I would
say. At the back are some entertaining
case studies of successful Niche
Coaches, featuring a motley assortment
of specialists, whose names you will
instantly recognise – among them Judith
Morgan, Chris Barrow, Guy Levine and
yours truly.
Then I went to Richard J White’s
brilliant
Lead Generation Masterclass and in
my lunch break, bought another couple of
books.
While there, I met some great people
– I do love
Ecademists - and had a lively chat
with Thomas Power and Mark Lee, who took
my newly created strapline, totally
pulled it apart and put it back together
for me.
We spent all morning thinking about our
ideal clients, working out their
outcomes of working with us, and honing
our 30 second elevator speech – which is
great because I didn’t really have a
short punchy one. Mine now goes: "Hi, I’m Nicola Cairncross, founder
of
The Money Gym. At The Money Gym, we
specialise in helping bright, successful
business women become independently
wealthy. For example…" And I go on to
tell a short story about a client, whose
background or circumstances mirror that
of the person I’m talking to. I also met
some of my ideal clients there, and got
the chance to stand up and say my
elevator speech. So now everyone in the
room – 50 odd – knows what
The Money Gym
does and who we do it for.
The books I bought are “Wink
& Grow Rich” by Asian entrepreneur
Roger Hamilton, and creator of the
Wealth Profiling System used by
Ecademy Blackstars.

I have to say that I found my Wealth
Profile very helpful, as I came out as
Mechanic / Creator / Star which is spot
on. Note the complete lack of Lord /
Accumulator tendencies which I find too
to be very true. Hence the lack of
investments until now, and the
proliferation of failed businesses until
That explains the techie ability, the
constant creation of new ideas and the
ability to speak in public then!
I loved reading “Wink
& Grow Rich” – it has some wonderful
little pictures - and feel that I will
have to read it at least 5 times before
I get the story behind the story. Great
quote from the book though: "Wealth
isn't how much money you have, it's what
you're left with if you lose all your
money." So that’ll be family, friends
and the stuff you know then.
The other book was "Diary
of a Naked Salesman: A Business Novel
About the Art of Selling" by Espen
Holm. It’s quite an interesting read but
boy, what a weird style of writing. I
can’t put my finger on it, but the
author uses some very strange
mannerisms. I’m quite enjoying it
though, as I tried a few sales jobs in
the past and hated it but always thought
that if I could have cracked it, I’d
have been quite good.
Then off to the pub where I hung out
with two very bright city boys for the
evening, one in software and one an IT
lawyer. They are taking all their cash
and investing in Spain, France and
Romania so they’ll be f*inancially f*ree
in the not too distant future. I got
home far too late from that one...
Then onto Marcus De Maria’s excellent
Wealth Workout event where I delivered a
rousing hour or so on harnessing the
power of the internet and after that,
straight to
Wiston House where
Andy
Shaw’s surprise 40th birthday party was
happening. He got married there
apparently and it was lovely. Nice to
see lots of old friends too.
Sunday was much quieter, with a trip to
the garden centre with my singing sister
Heather, to look at plants for her new
garden, then home to the papers and a
roast chicken dinner. Wonderful.
Have fun, we are!
