Help! Where do I start?
by Nicola Cairncross
Rebecca asked:
I
would like to invest in property, do a bit of stock market
trading and am also training to be a life coach (and I also
work a full time job).
I am also interested in making m*oney on the internet. I
attend lots of seminars on the above subjects but I just
don’t know how to start... I also love having lots of
ideas but find it hard to put them into practice. HELP!
Nicola says:
Well, Rebecca, you are not alone. What you are talking about
here is overwhelm and feeling like you want to start, but
don’t know where. You are also talking about all Four Lanes
of the Wealth Highway, and on top of that you have a full
time job!!
If you were a

"I've tried various forums but apart from a
couple of strictly techie ones, none have
stayed the course except the one that comes
with
The Money Gym!
As an Internet Marketing business, I find
there is a constant stream of
useful information being exchanged on the
forum that is pertinent to our business.
For
instance, I recently had a need to set up a
Blog for a specific purpose and I could
quickly refer to the The Money Gym group exchanges to zoom
in immediately on suitable software and a
bunch of tips. It saved me researching it
myself and of course I got the benefit of
all the group experience of what works and
what doesn't.
There is quite a range of businesses on the
The Money Gym group and a wide range of expertise which is
shared readily and with great humour.
I am not greatly involved with the property
and stockmarket threads running in the group
but it is interesting to keep a watching
brief on these too.
I do actually read all the posts! Amazing!"

This week we're in Lane #2 : internet
Is AdSense Tacky?
by members of The Money
Gym
Recently, on
The Money Gym support group, the following interesting question was raised by
Money Gym member Ann Harrison...
Ann says:
I was just browsing around the blogs on Ecademy and came across a discussion that had taken place about using Adsense on commercial websites and blogs.
Basically, someone had installed Adsense on his company website, only to be accused of 'Click Fraud' and to have the service withdrawn by Google because he had clicked on a few of the ads, just to check out what was being advertised via his site.
A bit further down the discussion, I saw the following comment:
I can't believe any serious business would tolerate having these awful adverts on their site. The presence of Adsense on a site tells me that the company's primary business isn't profitable and that they're desperate for a few quid. It's a really, really bad image to project.
Of course it's different for personal websites and blogs, although I personally wouldn't have Adsense on any of my sites.
What do you think? Is Adsense tacky? Do we lose credibility by incorporating into our websites and blogs? Do people hate to see ads on commercial sites? Your comments/thoughts appreciated, as always...
Here's one of the great replies by one of our Money Gym members,
Jason Hulott...

5 Benefits of Coaching
by Julia Porter
As
I get prepared for my next coaching session
with Nicola, my Internet Wealth Coach, I
thought I'd explain what benefits I gain
from a coaching relationship ...
In fact, I now have several coaching
relationships.
Nicola Cairncross, founder of
The Money Gym, (just mentioned) who
has helped me
put my website together, Perenna Fleming who was my personal coach on
my training programme and continues to coach
me. There are also informal and mutual
coaching relationships with colleagues who I
trained with and who are now masterful
coaches in their own right.
There's a coach out there for anything you
care to achieve.
I am not going to go into the semantics of a
coach (mentor, counsellor, facilitator,
therapist etc). That really bores me. All
I'm interested in is the results I
personally get. You may have all sorts of
descriptions for the person who helps you in
your journey in life - it doesn't really
matter.
Life is a journey and not a destination. We
know this at heart really, don't we? Because
as soon as we achieve something, we revel in
it for a while, then we're onto the next
thing. This is beautifully explained in the
book Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry
Hicks.
It often takes a lot of effort to get moving
once you've been stuck in a pattern of
immobilisation for some time. This might be
from stress, fear, ignorance, habit or the
comfort and familiarity of your present
situation. My experience in my former
teaching job taught me that. However, if you
have a gnawing sense of dissatisfaction
about what you're currently doing, then in
order to be truly happy you will eventually
have to do something about it.
For me, the top

“Wow! What
an amazing experience!
I have just
been to London for my first two day seminar
as a member of
The Money Gym Platinum coaching group.
I was
flabbergasted, thrilled and excited in equal
measure. Thank you all - coaches and members
- for being so uplifting, open, friendly and
informative.
I have been
browsing property websites today, and
formulating my business set-up plans for a
'global inspiration and motivation' business
for nurses. Crikey!”

A note from Nicola

Dear Friend
Starting on a
sombre note this week, George Metcalfe
flagged up a worthy petition that you
can sign online at
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Bailiff-Violence/,
to stop Bailiffs having more brutal
powers. George says:
“The new powers
proposed for bailiffs are absolutely
horrendous… please read this and if you
feel as strongly as me, click on to
Peter Salter's petition to Downing
Street. Sadly we live in a world, here
in the United Kingdom, in which
increasingly our personal independence
is being eroded away and swapped for the
uncertain compensation of being able to
email 10 Downing Street - but who really
listens? Who will act to protect us
citizens? These proposals to allow
bailiffs, who often comprise the most
brutal and ruthless elements of our
society, to have the right to barge into
our homes and sequester our possessions
(suppose they have the wrong house and
the wrong information?) are incredibly
dangerous."
On a lighter note, the big news for
The Money Gym this week is that,
following a round of successful virtual
meetings yesterday with Realtors and
Business Park developers,
The Money Gym has opened it's first
virtual office in the beautiful
Boulevard de Bonheur in the French
Quarter of the popular online game
Second Life (SL).
Hermione
Watanabe has been appointed
The Money Gym's first virtual wealth
coach. Hermione will soon be having
virtual meetings with potential clients
and hosting regular open Wealth Coaching
sessions in the lovely Plaza de
Festival.
"When Nicola read about Anshe Chung
becoming the first Real World
millionaire from property investment in
Second Life, in RED Magazine last
week, she just knew
The Money Gym had to establish a
presence there.
She used the
skills acquired from membership of
Ecademy Blackstar to accelerate the
process and fast track our move to
Second Life. Nicola researched
Google using key words, utilised Ecademy
Blackstar contacts to find out who's at
the cutting edge of
Second Life in the UK, made contact
with the best movers and shakers
in-game, visited their SL offices
(everyone was really friendly) and asked
for more referrals to the experts she
needed" says Hermione.
"Networking really works in Second Life
as it does in Real Life"
The Money Gym would like to thank
Gwen & Derik from Fonck Realty for
making the process as painless as
possible, accompanying her on
(literally) flying visits to Venice
Island, Knightsbridge and the New
Orleans like French Quarter, negotiating
with the leaseholder, organising the
decor and furniture, all enabling
Hermione to get on with the really
important business; shopping for more
suitable outfits, a much hotter "rez"
body and more glamorous hair (this is
urgent!) and makeup.
Here’s some photos of the office,
Hermione in the Plaza de Festival,
enjoying a coffee rather
enthusiastically, where there will
shortly be a big Art Fair and where the
inhabitants recently celebrated Mardi
Gras.

If you are a member of
Second Life, just IM Hermione
in-game or visit her at the office:

Have fun, we are (if only we could get
to bed before 3am!!)
Nicola
PS. Sarah, my
sister and editor of this august tome,
has asked me to add something more
personal for the ezine this week...
Unfortunately, I
have no real life (RL) at all at the
moment, as I have completely subsumed
myself in Second Life (SL). I even blew
out a night at my favourite pub in RL,
the Crown & Anchor in favour of a SL
shopping spree – and hot date but that’s
another story – in Second Life (well, I
have heard the sad news for the “ladies
of a certain age” that the lovely Matt
has a serious girlfriend who is at least
20 years younger than us, so…..….)
I’m off to speak at Chichester
University tomorrow to two groups of
Marketing students about marketing real
life businesses online – I’m going to
work through all the different ways to
market and how to add £££ to the bottom
line with no extra overheads, and as a
finale, show them round
The Money Gym Club office in the
French Quarter in SL. Cool or what? They
are going to think this 45 year old is
barking!! Hermione has finally sorted
out a business suit and her hair is
improving so she should be ready for us
to drop in.
Then I’m off to London on Saturday to
speak on internet marketing for property
investors, for Acorn Properties and then
to London again on Monday for an Ecademy
Blackstar Networking day.
Sorry it’s so dull, but it’s easier to
get a date on SL than it is in RL. Sigh.
