Abundance -v- Scarcity
by Nicola Cairncross
A turning point for me came when I realised that there was enough money
sloshing around the world for every single person to have in excess of £1 million. It's out there, somewhere, and who is to say that I am not
equally deserving of some of it, as the next person?
Do you ever complain that you don't earn enough? Why is that?
Is it
that your company pays everyone the same as you? No? So why is it that
your company pays someone else more than you? "But they won't pay ME
any more!" you may say. What is the difference between you and the
person that your company does pay more to? Is there so much difference
between you and that other person? Hmmm, that's an interesting thought
isn't it?
And it leads onto the thought "Well, what would it take for me to become the kind of person who is paid more for what I do?"...

I find
The Money Gym a continual source
of inspiration, motivation and positivity!
What a generous and responsive group.
Membership has so far enabled me to both
make money and save money.
We now have a growing property portfolio
and recently saved a whopping £500 on
Buildings insurance for our flats by using
one of the insurance brokers recommended by
the group! Can’t sing its praises highly
enough.

This week we're in Lane #1 : Business
How Not To Network
by Annie Kaszina -
Money
Gym Wealth Coach
There's a lot of information around about how to network effectively; which presupposes that it is an art to be learned. But there is also a case for laying down the guidelines for how NOT to network.
Successful networking is, in the end, another application of good people skills. You would not expect to endear yourself to someone if your eyes are constantly wandering off round the room while he/she was talking to you.
Still, at some point everyone will end up, cornered, at the networking event from hell.
On such occasions it is as well to remember the old adage: “There is no failure, only feed-back”. While the event may be less than successful, you can at least derive some small benefit from it by registering all the pitfalls you personally have not fallen into.
Cardinal rules of how not to network include the following:
1) Do not attend a networking event with your mother if you are 45 or over. It tends not to project you in the most credible light.

Karma
by Claire Westwood,
Platinum Member -
The Money Gym
There is currently a lot of
excitement in the Personal Development
field about the DVD 'The Secret' which
talks about the law of attraction and
how you can use it to manifest good
things in your life.
This week, however, I have been inspired
by something a bit more unusual.
I have
had some time away from my nursing job,
and decided to treat myself to a DVD set
I had been wanting for some time - 'My
Name Is Earl'.
This is an American
comedy about a guy who was a petty
criminal, and has a road accident after
winning the lottery. He realises it is
karma and to get good things you need to
do good things. He decides to make a
list of all the bad things he has done
in his life, and undo his previous
misdemeanours, and crimes. His future is
led by his list.
The whole idea is wonderful - the
characters are well acted, the stories
are fun and unusual, and each one ends
with a positive finale. I love it!
It got me thinking about making my own
list, and trying to make up for actions
I have taken that I am not proud of (not
that I am a criminal.....). In some way
I think that we could all benefit from
Earl's mantra "I'm just trying to be a
better person....my name is Earl"
Try it yourself with your own name! What
one thing would you undo if you could?
Write a list of your own misdemeanours,
and think about how you could make some
of them better, and decide to forgive
yourself.
Be a better person!

Dear Friend
THE REAL WORLD
The membership site is nearly ready for
the existing silver members to move over
and be upgraded. I’m so EXCITED!! Design
is largely there, customer journey
content is in, as is the 10 Financial
Intelligence Modules. Forums went live
at 8.30 this morning and I’ve set up the
topics….they are working on the
affiliate scheme right now.
The results of the recent survey are in
too, with the results showing that ....
The things you
love
about membership sites are
> feeling part of a community
> being with people who share your
interests
> networking possibilities
> sharing knowledge, tips and hints
> witty inspiring content
> factual information with real case
studies
> committed members (some on our email
discussion group have been for years)
> global wealth creation ideas
The things you
hate
about membership sites are
> a hard sell in terms of
banners and ads
> feeling guilty about
participation (or not)
> remembering your
user name and password
> being up-sold in
membership levels the moment you join
>
unclear navigation and poor layout
>
having to pay for membership
> too many
emails from the site
> not delivering on
promise
> not providing value
> having
to constantly monitor whether you are
getting value from your membership
>
members constantly promoting themselves
>
system crashes
> pop ups
THE WINNERS
The first 10 lucky people to hit their
buttons – in order of speed - were:
Veronica Jones, Dave Roberts, Marie
Taylor, Graysen Blackwell, K.Udaya
Shankar, Nuala Pinson, Niamh O'Gorman,
Ray Pickett, Jess Porter, Sylvia Doyle
And they have won a year’s membership at
Silver Level, worth £330 / $650.
Congratulations! You will receive an
email today letting you know what will
happen next.
ARE ENTREPRENEURS
BORN OR MADE?
The Times Online have a very interesting
article by Rachel Bridge on the topic,
with a test that's quite fun. I think
the questions are skewed a bit towards
the old model of a driven, obsessive
compulsive style of entrepreneur rather
than the E-Myth Model entrepreneur.
I came out as corporate which is the
last thing I am!! but perhaps that
reflects the changes in the way we do
things round here, nowadays, with it
being a team consisting of me, Steve and Judith,
with joint decision making and
systemising of The Money Gym processes.

And
Money Gym Platinum client Claire
Westwood has had a fabulous week. New to blogging, she has taken to it like a
fish to water and in just a few short
weeks
her writing has been picked up by
a specialist publication and PAID for
her participation. I must up my game in
this arena!! She sent us all this email
which just brims with joy and
excitement…
Dear All, Today I have an article in the
Nursing Standard, available from WHsmith
and other large newsagents! It is about
the stresses and rewards of nursing
children, and is a double page
(spread)....It also credits me as a
paediatric nurse, life coach and writer
- yaaaahoooooo! C xx PS. they (will) pay
me for it, too!
GOODBYE TO KINGS WALK
I’m writing from my desk, on our last
day in our little quirky beach house. We
are moving tomorrow, just up the road,
to the second best address on Shoreham
Beach, Old Fort Road.
It’s bigger, it’s
more suitable for our needs (my own
office tra la!) but I will miss this
house. The last one was OK but we were
still reeling from the Acacia aftermath
and working too hard really.
This little house was where I really
started to lose the weight, so I
associate it with being slim for the
first time in 25 years, wearing jeans,
feeling younger and starting to scale
back on the working hours. It was just
over the road from Beach Dreams, the
Crown & Anchor opened (alas, the lovely
Matt has now moved on) and my friend Kim
started to get over her husband’s
infidelity by dating a series of highly
amusing men.
And oh, the live music and the parties!
Even though I was on Evian and sparkly minerale for some of it, what fun we
had! Kicking off with the Real Ale
Festival at Easter, through Beach Dreams
in June and the Unplugged and Doctor
Feelgood gigs, moving onto the
semi-skinny dipping after hot speaking
gigs in London, and the barbeques. As my
(rather wild) mate Kim says, “from Beach
Dreams weekend, holiday rules apply”
which is a bit like “what happens in
Vegas, stays in Vegas”.
The weekend that will stand out in my
mind for ever is the one that started
with a quiet Friday afternoon in, before
our landlord turned up and invited us to
the kite-surfers party on the
beach…ending up with a rather wild
barbeque at my sister's, taking
in…well, suffice to say, it was all
wonderful and if I pegged it tomorrow…
We are moving to a slightly more sedate
end of the Beach now, but still walking
distance from all the action at the
Green…roll on Summer! So goodbye
little house, the AMM debacle
notwithstanding, I was happy here.
Talking of dieting, I’m back on the
fantastic Lighter Life diet, to lose
another stone and a half for summer. The
nutritionists and doom-mongers were
proved wrong, I didn’t have epileptic
fits in the night, my metabolism wasn’t
screwed – I felt well and lost a lot of
weight. I went to “slim’ish” before,
losing 5 stones, but I’m going for “very
slim” now – only another stone and a
half (read: month and a half) to go.
It’s an amazing feeling getting up every
day to find you are lighter, not
heavier. And I’ve found some exercise I
enjoy, brisk dog walking (no, we don’t
have one, we still have Chico the
psychopathic hamster, but Kim does)
involving some trainers, sunglasses,
getting a suntan and endlessly
dissecting Kim’s latest relationship.
The one-hour walk just flies by…
THE VIRTUAL WORLD
What
an amazing week in
Second Life!
Virtual Wealth Coach, Hermione Watanabe,
hosted her first “SL Ladies Business
Success Secrets” launch event on
Saturday, in the French Quarter square,
which was very well attended,
considering. Then her real life sister,
Larimar Watanabe, joined her for an
evening out, starting off at the Blarney
Stone in the Dublin sim – always lively!
Hermione and Larimar then popped over to
Manhattan Beach to see how the new build
on the condo was going (architect is
FenwayMonster Greene). We own...
