This week we're in Lane #3 : Property
Determine Your Strategy

 I don't where I was living, (under a rock?) but when I found
out that you can have an investment strategy or plan, with
regards to property investing, I was thrilled.
This is such a brilliant example of how simple making money
can be. Not easy, necessarily, but simple. It will require
some effort from you. And it will require you to open your
mind and let go of many assumptions and negative beliefs.
What outcome do you require? What do you need right now?
What will you need in five years time? What will you need in
20 years time?
If you want income, you invest in smaller units in certain
areas, that appeal to the most number of people. A good
average profit to aim for, per month, is £200 net. If you
want £1000 per month income, you will need 5 units. If you
want £2000 then you will need 10 units.
If you want capital growth, then you invest in bigger units,
in a different area entirely. If you want a mixture of the
two, find smaller units that you can force up the capital
appreciation on, by buying under value and renovating, then
renting it out.

The Self-Employed Braveheart

 I remember once sitting next to a man at a
dinner party, a man I had known for a long
time, since we were school children
together. Our dads were both serving
soldiers in the Royal Marines and we had
spent holidays together, and shared plane
rides back to school in England. Now my
friend is a top television executive. This
dinner was a New Year's Eve, black tie in
somebody's posh house, with all the
trappings of a successful corporate life
around us, just like my friend enjoyed in
his own life. I knew for instance that he
was taken to work by a chauffeur.
I know also that he has just had a major
career disappointment, something that he had
wanted for himself for a very long time and
put one hundred and ten percent into
achieving has been denied him and given to
another. The sacrifices he has made for his
career very nearly cost him his marriage.
However that's jumping forward somewhat, at
the time he was very much the rising star.
And he turned to me, in his dinner jacket,
and said with admiration in his voice that
he had always considered me very brave to
work for myself. What he meant was that he
felt very safe in an institution: boarding
school, university, rugby team, corporation
- you know where you are.

A note from Nicola

Dear Friend
REAL LIFE
It’s been a very exciting week with the
Beach Dreams finale last weekend,
including the procession, live music on
the green, and a brilliant party on
Saturday in a fabulous house on the
foreshore – very aspirational for me, as
that is where I want to live.
There were loads of people I knew there,
Paul Fuggle came down for the weekend
(ex Money Gym client and business
partner), it was really great to see him
again, see how focused he is and hear
about his recent wealth creation
activities!
The kids all swam in the pool, in spite
of the wind and showers in the evening,
and frolicked in the hot tub for hours,
and it was all great fun!
On the Sunday we took a picnic down to
the green again to listen to the live
music which was more laid back that day
and then in the evening,
my sister
Heather came over, fresh back from her
trip to Germany with Sir John Elliot
Gardner and the
Monteverdi Choir.
 Heather has been hanging out with some
right old famous names recently,
including
Sir Paul McCartney and Eric
Clapton. She’s also worked on a gothic
rock album and is the soloist on a new
hip hop track that is very jazzy soulful
and west-coast sounding. Reminds me of
Jazzy Jeff’s “Summertime” a bit. She’s
very versatile!!
If
you are in the Arundel area and like
Jazz, she’s doing a latin twist on
Gershwin, in the
Arundel Festival soon. The poster
was designed by my mate Kim’s daughter
Holly (my sort of god-daughter), who is
off to Greece soon to work for three
months, then up to London to start three
years at Art College. Starting out in
life like that, what fun!!
Bit of a mistake booking onto the
Ecademy Blackstar day on the Monday,
after three late nights at Beach Dreams like that, but I
managed to get myself up to London to
join in, and great fun it was as usual.
They start the day with a presentation
designed to help us get the best of our
networking, then we break into
Masterminding tables of about 8-10
people. We get 8-10 minutes each, to
present our business and ask for help
with any challenges or ask for feedback.
I was specifically looking for
introductions to people who have big
mailing lists, because I’m setting up Webinars as joint ventures, and I was
given three leads to people with very
large lists.
Thomas Power, founder with wife Penny,
of Ecademy, made everyone laugh when I
was on stage doing my “shameless plug”
by telling me that he’d heard I was
making money in
Second Life, so I told
him about my luxury condos which are now
nearly all rented out.
SECOND LIFE
 We have had what’s called a
“griefer” in Second Life this week who
has been messing with Hermione’s land,
by raising and lowering the sand on the
tropical island where the office and
apartments are located. Check it out
here at 234,232,21.
According to our tenant, Discordia
Mills, the griefer’s name
is AustinCloud Dagger – name and shame!!
- and he’s now thoroughly banned!
Hermione
is having to pay some Linden dollars to
get it put right and get some security
installed now.
Hermione's sister, Larimar,
was in
Second Life the other night and
was enjoying the hot tub by the office,
when a load of sand descended on her
head - she thought she'd been cemented
in!
It’s quite a shock when things
like that happen in
Second Life, because
while we know it’s not real, it
certainly feels it!! Like the time we
were all at our villa changing to go out
and some griefers came in the balcony
door and waved a bazooka at us. My heart
was pounding in Real Life too with the
adrenaline rush!!
Which proves that your body cannot tell
what is real, and what you imagine,
which leads me onto manifesting……
I’m using Second Life nowadays as a way
to manifest abundance and creating the
life that I want to live
in Real Life. As an example, I have lost (more) weight since
playing Second Life as I enjoy being
slim and shopping so much there.
