Exciting and F*REE new way to get traffic to your blog

It's official - W*ealth Creation can kill your marriage

A note from Nicola
Yeah Baby Yeah!  Nicola finds her mojo!

Janet Swift

"After clearing all my debts, (during my year with The Money Gym) I took over the Bristol Pod of The Cleaning Biz and so I'm on one lane (Business) of the Wealth Highway, thanks to Judith's idea. Lane number 2 is now live with www.SwiftlySorted.com (already getting requests for assistance!) and then I will finalise the gastric banding ebook.

My part-time contract was extendedby which time I hope I'll be able to work for myself full time. I am just so grateful to everyone who has helped me turn things around.

On my birthday I spent some quiet time reflecting upon the last year and what has changed. And, you know what, I'm in such a different place. Never think the Money Gym places are not appreciated!  For me, at that time, my free place was literally a life line. Yep, there have been serious hurdles to overcome along the way but, here I am, the owner of a business, a second business and website, and, now that the input into those projects has eased, I can finish my ebook.

The Cleaning Biz pod came out of the blue. I only knew I could have it on the Tuesday and was in London signing the paperwork on Friday!

My thinking has moved from that of 'scarcity' to 'abundance'. I know it's all out there waiting for me to collect. None of this would have happened without the mentoring that has been so generously given through The Money Gym."

Exciting and F*REE New Way To Get Traffic To Your Blog

by Nicola Cairncross

I get a lot of email as you can imagine but I've been cutting back on the lists I'm on recently, keeping it to only the internet m*arketers that I really like and trust, and that consistently deliver great content.

So when I got an email from one, Mike Filsaime, telling me about a new product developed by another, John Reese, that is f*ree, can get you great traffic - also for f*ree, and works by using the power of the internet and viral marketing in effect, I read the whole thing, clicked through and signed up.

If you look on our blog, www.WealthStrategySecrets.com, you will see a widget that is feeding in the headlines of relevent blog content, from other blogs.

I am earning "syndication points" by having this widget on my blog, which gives me the right to have my blog shown on other users blogs, in the same way.

Somehow, they are using the power of...

It's Official - Wealth Creation Can Kill Your Marriage!

by Nicola Cairncross

The No #1 Killer Of Relationships

As soon as I started to learn about life coaching and then m*oney management and w*ealth creation, my marriage came under immense strain, so I’m talking from experience and from the heart here.

We recently noticed that a significant number of our clients end up leaving their current partner during – or shortly after - their time in The Money Gym.

Why is that?

Is it that W*ealth Creation is bad for your marriage? Should we put an official notice on our website that says:

** WARNING: Joining The Money Gym Might Kill Your Marriage! **

Actually no, the rather controversial title is there to .....
......grab your attention and it obviously worked rather well, as you are reading this now!

Seriously, many official surveys into divorce cite “M*oney” and specifically “D*ebt” as being in the Top 5 killers of relationships.

So many couples, when falling in love, don’t think to explore each others attitudes to m*oney, debt/c*redit, investing, or even discuss what they want out of life f*inancially (beyond a holiday home in Florida perhaps!).

You find out which music you like, what your favourite food and film is, you talk about whether you want children, where you want to live, or go on holiday, but rarely do you talk about m*oney; your attitudes to it, your beliefs around it, earning it, spending it, keeping track of it.

Who Earns It Anyway?

When there is a main breadwinner in the family, they often think that they can spend it how they like. After all, they earn it, don’t they?

The second partner, because they are “not working” often feels then that they can’t spend m*oney on themselves and this is particularly prevalent in people who have previously earned well, but stop working to have – or look after - children. They will spend on the house or the kids, but feel uncomfortable spending on themselves.

The exception are those with a very high self esteem, who intrinsically feel they deserve it (all), or who are trophy partners, whose actual job it is to keep a lovely home, perfect children, and looking good to reflect well on the working partner!

Those aside, creating a home and bringing up the kids is not really valued by present society, and as such, many stay-at-home partners feel that they are not bringing as much to the marital table as the partner who is often working long hours and travelling to bring in the bacon. Like they could do it without the support systems, right?..

Spend, spend, spend!

Many couples don’t budget at all, they just judge whether they are doing all right f*inancially by whether the overdraft gets bigger or smaller.

Don’t laugh! I would say 90% of...

Quote of the week

Henry David Thoreau

"Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake"
Henry David Thoreau

A note from Nicola

Hi

This week has been all about getting my writing mojo back and travel trepidations.

I don’t know what it was, and in spite of writing a week or two back that I had brought myself back up to speed by listening to Rich Schefren audios and working through some of his exercises, I was only feeling about 75% not 100%.

I even went to the doctor with a (small) list of my current worries, as I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather healthwise. I have a flickering eye which is driving me mad – very annoying when you look at computer screen!

I had a list of articles to write, staring up at me from my pad, to use to publicise our "Women Talk Money" workshop on 5 October, and for the life of me I couldn’t make myself do it... So I used an old but effective Mark Forster time management trick (www.MarkForster.net) and “just got the file out”

Mark says that, when you have something to do and you don’t really want to do it, just say to yourself, you will do just one thing to move yourself closer to the job. Then tomorrow you can do one more thing…..and the next day…..and eventually momentum takes over and you do whatever it is.

So on Monday, I thought what one thing can I do towards writing the first of these articles……and I decided it was to mind-map out the main points I wanted to cover. I use Mindgenius by the way, lovely software. I’m a neat freak you see, if I used paper I would have had to keep starting again when I changed something, but I did use paper in the past.

So I started, by “just getting the file out” and before I knew where I was, the main points were mapped out, the sub points, I had hit the button to turn it into a Word document and it was practically written!

I called the first one “It’s Official: W*ealth Creation Can Kill Your Marriage” a nice controversial title I thought... I do like a nice controversial title.

I finished that one and went on to write three more articles that day.

I’m really enjoying writing them as they are the little known stories that never make it to the testimonial pages due to one reason or another – usually shyness on the part of the person to have their name up there in public.

They are really bringing a lump to my throat sometimes and reminding me how powerful membership of The Money Gym can be for the right people. I’m calling them the “Tales of Ordinary Women Doing Extra Ordinary Things” and you can read the ones that I have sent out already on the membership site at www.TheMoneyGymClub.com.

We are thinking of re-instating the Google group for Silver, Gold and MasterMind members; the forums are starting to get busier but they would be even more so if we took most of them public, and would help enormously with SEO.

And a member of The Money Gym had a bit of a wobble on Saturday after a run in with her soon-to-be-estranged husband and a rather intransigent mortgage broker. Due to the low traffic on the forums, she did not get a reply till Tuesday which is just not good enough, in my opinion.

It’s all set up, and I’m just waiting on the green light from my partners to say “go” and put the sign up boxes on the Members Home Pages.

I'm off to Italy on Saturday. I’m feeling remarkably trepidacious about it and I can’t quite put my finger on why. Is is that I’m leaving Steve and the kids for 5 whole days? (they are not bothered and he’s looking forward to it!)...

Is it that I feel I really shouldn’t be spending the money as there are a million “better” things to do with it?...

Is it that I have put on a bit of weight and none of my clothes are quite fitting me as well as they were in the Summer? (note to self: must do something serious about that when I get back)...

Is it that I’m going with 3 people that I wouldn’t normally travel with?... but that is the point of the trip as we never had a trip together as kids.

Is it that I won’t be in control or able to come home if I don’t like it?

My singing sister keeps sending me weather forecasts and I know she’s just trying to gee me up and help but it is disturbing my normal practice of not thinking about it until I absolutely have to. Deadline driven, me.

I know I will start enjoying myself the minute I get on the plane (being a practical sort I will know deep down there is no going back so I might as well get on with it) so what is it? I feel like this every time I have to go away now. Perhaps it’s that it’s been such a turbulent few years, I like the sameness and security blanket of little old Shoreham-By-Sea.

You never know, it might jolt me into loving the travel thing, which, as I’ve decided “a la 4 Hour Work Week” I want to travel the world when I don’t work at all, might be a GOOD THING.

Talking of travel, Judith is entering the final phases of preparation for the “Women Talk Money” workshop and tickets are selling fast, with someone signing up every day now.

She is gathering prizes for the competitions, the workbook for the day now has all it’s content, she has corralled me into revealing my “Top 7 Secrets About W*ealth Creation” which ended up, as is my wont, to be “Top 10 Secrets” and she seems to have dragooned a client of hers, who is a top ex-event organiser (property investor now) into helping.

It’s gonna be a great day!  Go and buy a ticket for yourself and a friend at  http://www.TheMoneyGym.com/Workshop

SOMETHING COMPLETELY RANDOM

My other sister Sarah, the editor of this ezine, sent me this beautiful song by Kate Nash .... The Nicest Thing... bought a lump to our throats *smile*...

Have fun, I’m sure I will when I get going....
